Het hotel is mooi van binnen en de combinatie van zwembad met eigen stukje strand is een fijne.
Helaas was de kamer die we hadden geboekt niet beschikbaar en dit werd niet goed opgelost. Later gelukkig wel een mooi gebaar door Booking gedaan ter compensatie. Verder was het personeel soms ongeïnteresseerd en onvriendelijk.
I absolutely loved my stay at Bougainville Bay Hotel. The sea was crystal clear, and the beach towels were always clean and available. The staff were exceptionally attentive, friendly, and always happy to help.
I also fell in love with the hotel’s unique art style. The paintings throughout the hotel are beautiful, and the interior design is elegant and unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed in. My favourite place was the rooftop terrace – the sunset views were simply breathtaking.
I really enjoyed the relaxing spa massage, and the breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of delicious food.
I also truly appreciated the flexibility of the hotel. I was able to check in earlier than expected, and although I checked out of my room in the morning, I was welcome to continue using all the hotel’s facilities until my departure. This made my last day so much more enjoyable.
There were only two small things. First, there was no hair conditioner in my room. The bottle was there, but unfortunately it was empty.
Secondly, I was a little confused about the rooftop terrace. When I arrived, I was told it was only for VIP guests or that there was a €20 entrance fee. However, after I ordered a cocktail, I wasn’t charged the fee, so I wasn’t sure how the VIP access works.
Even so, I really appreciated the staff’s kindness. As there were no regular tables available, they prepared a bar table especially for me in the best location with an amazing sunset view. This thoughtful gesture made my evening truly memorable.

Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été très bien accueillis. Un membre du personnel du parking nous a aidés à nous garer, ce qui a été très appréciable. À la réception, un autre membre du personnel nous a accompagnés jusqu’à notre chambre et nous a aidés avec nos valises. Ce sont de petites attentions qui font vraiment plaisir.
L’établissement est très grand et l’hôtel est idéalement situé. Il est possible de rejoindre facilement le centre de Saranda à pied. Des supermarchés se trouvent juste en face de l’hôtel et restent ouverts tard, ce qui est très pratique pour acheter de l’eau ou tout autre besoin de dernière minute.
La chambre était agréable, le petit-déjeuner était varié et sympathique.
Nous avons été déçus par plusieurs points. Avant notre arrivée, nous avions contacté l’établissement via Booking afin d’obtenir des renseignements. On nous avait indiqué que le parking était facturé 12 € par jour, ce que nous trouvons déjà dommage pour les clients de l’hôtel. À notre arrivée, on nous a finalement annoncé un tarif de 15 € par jour. Nous avons montré les échanges indiquant le tarif de 12 €, mais il nous a été répondu que, pour la période de notre séjour, le prix était de 15 €. C’est dommage, car l’établissement connaissait nos dates et aurait pu nous communiquer directement le bon tarif.
Nous avions également demandé si la piscine située sur le toit était accessible. Il nous avait été répondu que oui, moyennant un supplément de 30 € par jour. Nous avions d’ailleurs choisi cet hôtel en grande partie pour cette piscine. Nous étions prêts à payer ce supplément pour en profiter au moins une journée, mais à notre arrivée, nous avons appris qu’elle était fermée pour cause de travaux. Nous aurions vraiment apprécié d’en être informés avant notre séjour. Si nous l’avions su, nous aurions probablement réservé un autre hôtel.
Enfin, même si des bracelets de couleur sont remis aux clients et que les ascenseurs fonctionnent avec un système de badge, nous avons trouvé la sécurité un peu légère. En rentrant tard le soir, nous n’avons vu ni agent de sécurité ni contrôle à l’entrée. Il semble possible d’accéder facilement aux escaliers puis aux couloirs de l’hôtel, ce qui ne nous a pas vraiment rassurés.
Pour finir, nous avons trouvé que l’hôtel était assez mal insonorisé. Dès 8 h du matin, nous entendions les allées et venues dans les couloirs ainsi que la musique, ce qui ne permet pas vraiment de se reposer ou de profiter d’une grasse matinée.

Nous somme arrivée dans une période de travaux, nous avions du bruit tous les matins, nous étions réveillé tous les jours par le bruit.
La piscine du rooftop était fermée et nous n’en n’avions pas l’information.
Le hammam était en travaux et pas utilisable.

Air con was freezing is the only issue we had it set to 23 and I woke up a few times cold had to turn it off then youd wake up hot there was no comfy temp
The resort is like a little village, and beautifully decorated.
The parking situation is very confusing and we got sent round and round in circles because our parking card wasn’t working. There was no communication between parking staff and reception staff.
We used the rooftop pool and found it disappointing. The pool water was cloudy, and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned which is a shame because it was visually beautiful.
Our room was outdated and old and the furniture was worn and needed to be replaced. It unfortunately didn’t match the aesthetics of the rest of the hotel. The location is a long walk to the main Sarandë area and the private beach has cheap sunbeds and the sea was not as nice as other beaches we had been to in Albania previously. We also found that other luxury hotels in the area were priced the same as Bougainville and seemed to offer much more in terms of quality and value. We were initially recommended to stay here from a family member that had a great experience but ours just didn’t match unfortunately.

Das Hotel ist sehr, sehr, sehr heruntergekommen und hat absolut nichts mit den Bildern und der Beschreibung im Internet zu tun. Wir fühlen uns komplett getäuscht.
Es wird mit einem Innenpool, Wellnessbereich und Sauna geworben – das ist schlichtweg irreführend. Einen Innenpool gibt es gar nicht. Der Wellnessbereich kostet extra und eine Sauna haben wir überhaupt nicht gefunden.
Der angebliche Infinity Pool war mitten in der Hauptsaison geschlossen. Und selbst wenn er geöffnet gewesen wäre, hätten Hotelgäste zusätzlich bezahlen müssen, um überhaupt nach oben zu dürfen.
Der Fitnessbereich war komplett ranzig: kaputte Wände, flackerndes Licht, kaum funktionierende Geräte und insgesamt ein Zustand, der eher an einen verlassenen Keller erinnert als an ein Hotelgym.
Auch der sogenannte private Beach ist ein Witz. Der Strandabschnitt ist winzig und für die meisten Liegen muss man als Hotelgast trotzdem noch extra bezahlen. Von einem privaten Strand kann hier eigentlich keine Rede sein.
Die Angabe „Parkplatz inklusive“ stimmt ebenfalls nicht. Wir mussten 15 € pro Tag zahlen. Zusätzlich wollten sie auch noch unseren Autoschlüssel haben – ganz bestimmt nicht.
Das Frühstücksbuffet war katastrophal. Sehr wenig Auswahl, fast alles mit Schweinefleisch und kaum vegetarische Optionen.
Der Aufzug funktionierte ständig nicht, blieb stecken oder fuhr nur nach Lust und Laune. Wenn man nicht gerade auf der 4. Etage war, musste man gefühlt einen ganzen Marathon laufen, um überhaupt aus dem Hotel herauszukommen.
Insgesamt ist dieses Hotel eine einzige Enttäuschung und entspricht in keiner Weise den Werbeversprechen. Spart euch euer Geld und bucht lieber etwas anderes.
