Und kein Fön im Bad. Sehr minimalistisch.
Nach einem späten Flug ist die Lage zum Bahnhof aber perfekt, um schnell weiter zu reisen.

Bardzo ciasny pokój. Nad podwójnym łóżkiem było łóżko piętrowe. Niebezpieczeństwo uderzenia się w głowę np. przy nocnym wstawaniu. Prysznic był za zasłoną. Brak intymnosci.

The Ibis is 1 km away from SBB Bahnhof-Gare - Basel. The hotel is not in the Basel Old Town but the BaselCard's free transport and discounts (included with your booking) made transport very easy! They issue a hard copy when you arrive but you can use your booking receipt to claim it even before you check in. You can take the 10 or 11 tram but we arrived quite late after train delays and, unsure of the public transport, walked along the pedestrian / cycling path to the hotel. It was only another local tram ride to the Swiss National Day celebrations at Bruderholz and an easy walk downhill to the hotel late at night. Despite being next to train and tram lines we heard no noise in our first floor room towards the back.
The hotel has a 24 hour desk which is what you want when arriving late and they weren't fussed at all about our delayed arrival. The reception staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had booked only a few days beforehand so the only rooms available were a triple where there is a double bed and a bunk above it. This actually works well, even if you are a couple, as it doesn't take up extra floor room. The bed was comfortable. The small desk and small TV suited us and charging spots were conveniently located. The bathroom (and everything) was very clean with a separate toilet. I do like automatic lights in toilets.
Breakfast is on the ground floor and has indoor and outside areas to eat. We didn't book breakfast for all days but did eat there once. There are also ground floor areas good enough to have a rest break or a business meeting. The wifi worked really well as did the elevators. There was a microwave, iron and ironing board tucked away on the ground floor. You could buy snacks or coffees or get free water from dispensing machines.
