Good price, good porridge, friendly but very basic.
Pros:

Excellent location, quiet, porridge cooked to perfection, not expensive, window opened to air room. There was a (dated looking) bath & decent amounts of hot water.

Cons:

The whole property very much needs re-decorated and is very tired and dowdy. Toilet didn’t flush properly. The cistern could only flush once every few hours. Bathroom tap was very difficult to turn on and off. Shower pressure was very low and it was difficult to wash, but there was an ancient bath. Bedroom smelt of damp dogs, although it wasn’t actually dirty.
Proper coffee wasn’t available, only instant (although a big pot of tea was available.

Worth a stay in a 17th century coaching house
Pros:

Great location, super value, food excellent. Bible in room. An opportunity to stay in a 17th century coaching house. House keeping arranged towels into folded elephant shapes - brilliant.

Cons:

OK so it’s a little dated but it’s incredible and the staff amazing.

Be warned.
Pros:

The village location was lovely but that is the only compliment I can honestly give. The hotel was dirty and in need of a deep clean. Dead insects stuck to the wall, bedding valance and coverlet stained. Bathroom was disgustingly smelly and the rest of the hotel not far behind.
