To be fair, it is a historic building, so they are limited.
Location was good.
Housekeeping was very poor. Room not serviced and no replacement of toilet rolls, bins left unemptied, towels not renewed. Bed not made. You would expect excellent housekeeping & cleaning for a four star hotel. I would not rate this hotel as 4 star!! Costly and not good quality. Carpets were dirty and general facilities were grubby.
Location very convenient, central to nearby walks, train station and shops. Very comfortable bed and spacious room.

Clean, cosy bedrooms with lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Comfortable seating area in the bar. Breakfasts had a great choice in terms of hot and cold options and the food at both breakfast and dinner was superb. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything was just what we wanted for a weekend away with friends.

Pillows sadly not great so sleep was affected - only reason for 9 rather than 10
Cosy room, great shower, mugs big enough for a proper cup of tea and real milk provided. Steaks for dinner were really nice and good breakfast.
Slightly warm in room, windows opened onto courtyard which had screaming kids in afternoon.
