Staff very helpful and friendly, facilities excellent and the food too.
There was nothing we didn't like, our stay was lovely.
Service in Jacks bar was very good and it’s a nice relaxing environment for drinks and snacks.
Great size room and comfortable furnishings
Breakfast for £24 serving concentrate OJ and regular supermarket toast was a bit disappointing. Expected some fresh juice and nicer bread. Coffee machine was broken so no latte/flat white option.
Slightly more body wash would have been helpful 30ml between two people is not enough. However, more was brought promptly when contacting reception who were always helpful through the stay.
Night porter very rude on returning just after 12.30 and trying to get back into the hotel after a gig. Clearly upset at having to come to the door and do his job. Such a shame as all the other staff were really brilliant and it’s a beautiful venue.
It is a very nice hotel with convenient parking and quiet location. Glasgow is a wide city and hence I can not comment on its best location to stay and visit the attractions, But this hotel is convenient although the stores around it are not on the elegant side.
Outstanding service w everything! We loved the Dakota and would definitely return. Stylish and so comfortable, great bar and restaurant too.
Well done.
Staff were brilliant, dinner was fantastic
Good location by Blytheswood Square. Walkable to City Centre and the West End. Comfortable rooms.
Hallways are a bit dark.
Breakfast options limited
Nothing really
The attitude if staff, charget extra for check out for 1 hour too! Rooms side was below expectation
Everything was perfect
Nothing el
Not only was the hotel and the rooms extremely dark, but the entire place felt dusty and poorly maintained. This triggered my allergies quite badly and made the stay very uncomfortable.
We came here during our honeymoon after staying at a five star hotel in Edinburgh, and the difference was huge. Unfortunately, this hotel was a major disappointment and really put a dampener on what should have been a special trip. We couldn’t wait to leave.
The location is poor, the cleanliness is unacceptable, and basic amenities are missing. There isn’t even a mini fridge in the room. The beds are advertised as king size on their website, but they are clearly doubles. When I raised this to see if we could upgrade to a king bed, I was simply told it was a king size bed and they don’t have double beds, which is incorrect. I have a king at home and this was nowhere near the same size and in fact it’s even stated on booking.com as a double bed at 131-150cm wide.
The staff were dismissive and unhelpful, showing little interest in resolving concerns. Instead, they were quick to suggest paying extra to upgrade to a super king bed, despite the fact I had already paid almost £100 more than the upgrade was being advertised for on their website.
The hotel is also very noisy, with constant traffic sounds making it difficult to relax or sleep. Lots of people shouting outside the hotel at night drunk, which was right below our window despite me asking for a quiet room.
Unable to order room service, QR code took us to a website that just said the hotel isn’t taking orders at this time. One bottle of complementary water per person was provided on arrival and even though I had some left in mine, housekeeping binned it the next day and waters weren’t refreshed on the second day.
What made this more disappointing is that the hotel was aware we were staying for our honeymoon, yet made no effort whatsoever to acknowledge it.
I have one thing to say Anthony is the man!
Lunch menu is limited but excellent food .
We were served by waiter Big T who was excellent ; friendly , good knowledge of the food and attentive.
Very nice hotel, modern, clean and stylish. Room had everything we needed. Decorated nicely, bathroom small but again all we needed and very clean Reception and bar staff very friendly. We ate in the bar. Food was very good, also nice cocktails. This was a flying visit so can’t comment on location as we arrived late so just ate, slept had breakfast which again was very nice, good choice and cooked perfectly and then left. Would definitely stay there again only slight negative is it has very moody lighting so it is a little dark in places. It didn’t really bother us and does add to the aesthetic but just a bit difficult when you’re old and trying to read a menu. All in all a very pleasant stay.
Clean, modern and well maintained.
