Paying an extra £10 for parking I asked 13 people to stay at the hotel 7cars each parking bay was very small
The bed was very comfortable. The lounge areas are warm and inviting and some arm chairs have a sea view. There was a lovely lady on reception when we arrived. She was very friendly ( her name might've been Anne?) She said she was from Scotland. She made us feel very welcome.
The rooms are not good value for money. This was a mid-week, one night stay without breakfast and I paid what you would expect to pay on a weekend for a hotel of this standard. When I arrived there was a long hair at the back of the toilet seat and a mildly offensive smell in the bathroom which persisted throughout the stay. Drains? When we left we naturally assumed we were to check out at reception as is standard procedure but on arriving in reception and waiting a few minutes we were met by a miserable young lady who off-handedly said we should be checking out in the restaurant on the next floor up! I apologised saying we didn't know this and she simply pointed to a paper sign and said "it says there" . So up in the lift we went again to check out. The young lady muttered an apology about how she was the only one working several areas but I do feel her customer service technique needs a good polish! It costs nothing to smile at paying guests and can make all the difference to someone's opinion. Overall , not good value for money. And work needs to be done on customer service.
