If you have asthma do not book here.
Pros:

Despite marketing itself as a non-smoking throughout facility, we checked in for a one night, and got hit with an overwhelming heavy smell of cigarette smoke within our room. We were unable to stay at the hotel and had to book a second hotel for the night.

We also called up multiple days in advance to reserve a car park and was advised this was confirmed, and we would have to pay upon approval. Upon arriving for a late check in we were informed that our reserved carpark had been giving to someone else, no one from the hotel made contact with us about this and we were unable to safely park our car, despite the car park having what appeared to be 5 car parks free when we arrived.

Would not recommend.

UPDATE: we checked out within 30 minutes of checking in due to smell of cigarette smoke in our room. We have been attempting to request a refund for this booking, and have been met with excuses that the manager is not available and called in sick and the “casual” staff members “do not have access to emails or systems”. Entirely unprofessional.

Cons:

Not clean, no room cleaning service over 5 days. Kitchen rubbish not removed over 5 days. Found packaging left in cupboard.
No instructions how to use washing machine or cooktop.
Not enough cutlery for 2 people. No real hanging space for coats or space for luggage, had to put 1 case on top of washing machine.

Comfort Apartment Box Hill is very convenience. Will come back next time !
Pros:

Location is very strategic, closed to the public transport, restaurants and shops. Check in is easy and they have a ramp lift for the heavy luggage if you're coming with public transport and walking which is convenience. Room is not spacious (ok for short stay where you mostly are going out) but room is clean and the interior is quite modern too. Facilities are quite complete (mini fridge, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, washing + drying machine), TV and sofa. Air con is inverter one, working well as the heater during winter time. They also have a car park about $10-15/night, but we're not driving so not really using it.

Cons:

Maybe more plates, bowls, cups and cutleries. No frying pan only boiling pan. Sofa in not comfortable enough but we're not staying inside a lot so not a big deal. If I have to pick something else, maybe also refurnish the lobby area to be more presentable and modern.
