Did not have breakfast. Location is fab. Bed very comfortable
A hand shower needed as well as a rain shower. Wardrobe for longer items, such as dresses and trousers. Had a dusty smell in bathroom at times but it was very clean regardless
Facilities are good.
Our first room (212) was overpowered by the smell of fried food. After complaining, we were eventually moved 3 rooms along to another room, which was better but, as with all rooms at the back of this hotel, overlook the kitchen and suffer from smells emitted by very noisy extractor which is always on. As there was no air conditioning, the windows had to be open to keep cool. We were woken at 4am by numerous unanswered phone calls in the kitchen area then again at 6am with clanking from the kitchen, accompanied by food smells again. This was not what we expected from a £270 room, 4* hotel. Management listened to our concerns but came across as being indifferent, so assume this must be a regular complaint.
In addition, there was no bar service in the outside pool even on a very hot day - you had to trudge across the carpark to the bar. The staff were functional but seemed lacked the passion that you often feel with similar hotels. We also though £50 for 2 x breakfast was excessive.
Amenities. Staff.
Lack of air conditioning
Location and staff
Our bedroom was like a furnace
Lovely dinner
The bartenders were inefficient and slow. We sat on the patio waiting to have service, but when no one came, my husband walked up to the bar and ordered there.
Would have loved to have been upgraded to an ocean view. It was not crowded the day we arrived
A beautiful, traditional hotel nestled in the dunes behind the beach. In some ways it feels like going back in time - incredible tall ceilings, ball rooms and studies. But in others it is modern, with a cinema in the hotel and modern pool, gym and spa facilities. It strikes a great balance between the two. The staff and food are excellent too. One of the best places I've stayed in the UK!
Amazing location, indoor spa and outdoor pool, good food, comfortable and quiet room
we only stayed in the room to sleep as a stop gap. but the facility's that was available was immense.
Elegant hotel in a central location.
Spacious room and well equipped bathroom with complimentary bath robes.
Excellent facilities including indoor swimming pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room.
Had dinner in the Brasserie which had a nice atmosphere, great service and excellent food.
Excellent breakfast choices served in a lovely dining room
The layout is like a maize and there needs to be more signs directing guests to the key areas I.e. reception, breakfast room, brasserie & spa
