A booking at 7.15 pm .... we were located in bar area maybe because we had a dog not sure why. food quality was good but service very poor we felt isolated as not in restaurant area so outlayers. starter was served relatively quickly but then 90mins till main served and we had to chase staff for info on when it would arrive. we asked to order desserts and told kitchen closed we mentioned the food was so slow and they agreed to take our dessert order. Again after 30mins we canceled desserts and paid bill. we were so dissappointed in the service and whole experience .... would not visit again usually a place we visit when in exeter no more

Personale scortese e lento al check in. Particolarmente scortese e scostante l'addetta alle colazioni. Finestre della camera praticamente non apribile e niente aria condizionata. Solo un vecchio ventilatore polveroso. Colazione misera, unta e salatissima. Posto da evitare

Breakfast was good tailored to your requirements. The only problem I had with breakfast time was my age carrying tea down the few steps (I am in my eights but I managed)

The location is excellent, close to the cathedral and all amenities. Parking available.
Nothing to dislike.
Stayed one night. Check-in was quick and easy and receptionist friendly and helpful. The room itself was average at best. It was very dated and the bathroom showed signs of mould in areas around the bath. The shampoo etc was clearly watered down. There is no air con so the room was a little stuffy and warm. There was a stain in the carpet. Pillows also too soft. The breakfast was not great. Bacon was thin and overcooked. Buffet very limited and not refilled when things ran out. The hotel itself is dated and needs a refresh. The pub was expensive and visitors should note there is a very nice pub directly opposite with drinks half the price. On a positive note it is an excellent location, staff were friendly and the building itself is quirky and interesting. However , work is needed to modernise the interior.
Good location and a great place full of character.
Rooms were very basic and little ventilation so the room was hard to cool with no air con. There was a desk fan but this was noisy
Super comfy bed and room, perfect for an overnight stay. The breakfast was great in the morning! Restaurant maybe a little understaffed however
We had a drink in the bar. Again service was very slow and the seating very uncomfortable. The ladies toilets were in dire need of an update - really poor condition with dreadful mould on the walls. Couldn’t get out of there quick enough!

We visited yesterday we came in for a roast dinner it was so good, someone said they had been in the week before and said it was really nice so we thought we would give it a go, and we are glad we did we was served by Louise she was lovely and we was so happy with her service.
