Great location
Pros:

Outstanding view from room 10, picture perfect. Great breakfast with good choice. .

Cons:

The only downside is the parking. There are not enough spaces during high season and dining guests visiting. Nailed on 10 out of 10 if the parking was better.

Great welcoming place to stay
Pros:

It was very relaxed and laid back, very homely. I was on my own with my dog and was able to take her to all parts of the hotel which made things very easy. There was a dog bath and towels provided.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The whole place was just really chilled. It was a half hour walk to Bassenthwaite lake and about 10 mins drive into Keswick centre.

The food at breakfast and dinner was exceptional.

Cons:

Nothing really. The only thing was I was in a single room and it was very small with no view really. Being on my own I would have liked a few, I didn’t try to book a double but maybe it was full. I would definitely book a double room next time.

Highly recommend
Pros:

Booked as a last minute getaway. Beautiful building with a fantastic view. Inside is tastefully decorated and has a welcoming atmosphere. Great outdoor seating area to enjoy a drink. Staff are very accommodating- allowing us to dine earlier and sit wherever we pleased. The food was delicious. Rooms are cosy and comfortable. Parking is free.

I would be happy to stay again sometime in the not too distant future.
Pros:

Wonderful, attentive and friendly staff. Quality furnishings in the room and throughout the hotel. Food was superb at breàkfast and dinner. Some of the best I’ve tasted.

Cons:

No fridge in the room, coudnt keep drinks cool especially so in the very hot weather. Views from bedroom were disappointing.

Nice Historic lodging for base to explore area
Pros:

Very nice historic building. Friendly staff. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner was very good. Beautiful area to explore. We liked hikes they recommended

parking was a little tight, but we didn't have an issue. other then that no complaints

Pros:

I thought the staff were lovely.

Cons:

The room was very tired and not particularly clean. There was actually a dog biscuit on the floor when we walked in. No hot water in the evening or the morning and the hotel had a bad smell of fat from the kitchen.

Pros:

Very dog friendly, extremely nice and helpful staff.

Cons:

Housekeeping could be improved. The attic room we stayed in needs airco, or at least some external shutters, as it heats up a lot during the day.
