Not what we were expecting
Pros:

The location is near the parkway but away enough it's not a super busy area. The breakfast was good. Staff was nice and saw them handle an issue with a rude guest appropriately and professionally.

Cons:

Pool area was closed completely 3 of the 5 days we were there with no real explanation as to why as it didn't even storm 2 of those days. Then closed again due to an actual storm on our last day. Kids were extremely disappointed as that is the reason we always stay here. My daughter was beyond excited for it and only got about 3 hours worth total the whole week. Kinda ridiculous as we didn't get the value out of it whatsoever. Pretty sure that pool area has a mold problem though on the walls where the windows are and around the pool. Shower ceiling had paper I'm assuming peeling off of it. Black spots on the shower curtain. Hole in the wall where someone must've slammed the bathroom door open. You can hear everything in the hallway while in your room. Beds weren't very comfortable. Years ago this place was fantastic...it is just going downhill. Needs to repairs and replacements for sure. I don't think we'll be back again.

Not worth the money
Cons:

No life guards so kids just ran over top of each other and make it to where the little ones can’t play… it’s also very dark and dreary in the waterpark. The pillows and bed was so uncomfortable and the room was not very clean

Was disappointed in our stay this time because it was not up to Holiday Inn Express standards.
Pros:

We always stay at Holiday Inn Express when we travel.

Cons:

The water at the hotel was cut off for an entire day and the hot water never came back on before we had to leave. I think they should have forewarned us before we checked in and at the very least offered us a discount for the inconvenience.
