Front desk staff are very welcoming
Love how close it was to kings dominion and dominion raceway
Hotel was under renovation. At 7:30 am they were outside my room sawing holes in the walls and hammering.
Location is great for our trip being a half way point to destination.
The construction closure seems excessive just for the overhang to be redone, side doors now used as main entrance but yet there is no key needed to get in so anyone could walk in and have immediate access to stairs that the front desk wouldn’t see. The room itself smelled like wet dog.
We knew we were in trouble when we drove up. The front was all torn apart and you had to go in the side entrance. They had one luggage cart as construction crews were using the rest to carry things up and down the elevators. Side entrance did not have access ramp to pull the luggage cart through so had to lift it over the sidewalk. Thankfully another guest held the door open. The elevators took a while as construction crews were using them a lot. We have stayed here numerous times in the past with no problems. If we had know this was going on we would have stayed somewhere else. When we got in the room noticed we had no towels. Front desk did quickly give me some when I went down. The floor was filthy. Under the ottoman was trash. Shower head had sludge on it which we were able to get off. Positive the room was quiet which is always important. I would call straight to the hotel to see if remodel is complete. At least the front entrance. People are always nice.

This hotel plays above its' ranking. Clean facility and room. Plenty of hot water and a comfortable bed. Indoor pool is clean and reasonably large. The breakfast was better than most of the so-called complimentary breakfast at competitive hotels. Location enables easy Ingress and egress. Will certainly stay here again.
Clean, spacious, relatively modern rooms. Friendly service. Quiet. Not a great location, but not bad either.

We stayed at this property a few years earlier and the location was ideal for us. The nightly rate as reasonable.
The hotel was eerily quiet. The tv did not work in our room but we were only there for one night as a resting point on our drive back to our home in Florida. The bathroom towels were stale and the tub appeared worn and like it hadn’t been cleaned or tended to in quite a while.
