Fantastic hotel

Clean tidy rooms.

Cons:

Rooms on fourth floor are not well sound insulated, I got barely any sleep because people in other rooms kept banging and slamming doors going in and out, blasting TV out at 12.30pm. Ironically, all the noisy neighbours had do not disturb signs on their own rooms! Asked someone at 7.50am to keep the noise down in the landing area outside my room (a big group talking very loudly) and got told to wind my neck in! Also the doors beep loudly when not fully closed, so kept getting woken up by that too.

Pleasant sea- front stay.
Pros:

A memorabe stay at The View Hotel Folkestone
Pros:

I met my daughter, who was driving from the Netherlands to the UK, so we decided to take in a bit of the scenery around Folkstone and chose the The View Hotel Folkestone. A brilliant choice! The reception staff were friendly and made us feel welcome and arranged parking for my daughter. Our room was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Plug points were conveniently located next to the beds. Our room had a sea view too. Thank you The View Hotel Folkestone for a memorable stay.

Cons:

I did not like that we very stupidly only stayed 1 night. We should have stayed longer :-) There is so much more to visit and explore around Folkstone.

Very good value for money, very clean and excellent location for the Leas and theatre.
Pros:

Good location, clean and good value for money for an overnight stay.

Cons:

Lift not working on arrival and we were on the 4th floor. However, we were pre warned and it was fixed later that day.

Die englisch-altmodische Art des Hotels.

restaurant and bar was lovely and staff friendly

Cons:

The hotel bar and restaurant was very good and the staff were very friendly. However, the check-in procedure is ridiculous. We had a person in front of us trying to fill in your check-in form on the tablet, it took her about 10 minutes, when had it of been done by pen and paper, it would of took seconds. When I enquired with the receptionist, why are we having to do this, he told me it was to save paper? If that's true, it's utter madness! Also, the rooms are very tatty, so are the communal areas and carpets (we was on floor 2, i presume they are all the same upstairs). My biggest complaint though, was breakfast. I waited over 15 minutes to get my cooked breakfast, before everything was available. Each time I went to the service area, half of the food was missing, so i sat back down and waited for it to be replenished, then when I went back, other things were missing. Not worth the money if you cannot supply a full english breakfast.

Cocktails and seaview
Pros:

The location was perfect for our trip. The staff were so warm and helpful. Chatty and wanted to help. They make a mean cocktail in the bar, and with the view of the sea it was perfect. We had the 2 bed apartment, clean and comfy.

Cons:

Love it all, and we are fussy people.

Excellent hotel, amazing views, everything perfect except the checking in process.
Pros:

Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Wonderful view of the sea from our room

Excellent breakfast options from the buffet selection, whether it be Full English, or Continental.

Cons:

Having to manually enter all of my booking information myself on an iPad screen, name, address, email, telephone number.

This information is included in my booking. Why do I have to manually type it in again myself? I’ve never experienced this before in any hotel that I have stayed in, throughout the world.

One other minor gripe. There is a £9 charge for parking, for 24hrs. I know that this is not the fault of the hotel, but the local council. However, I think this should be highlighted when making the reservation. Luckily I asked the concierge, otherwise I may have gotten a ticket.
