Pros:

The clean facilities and convenience were good.

Cons:

The room was stuffy and lacked a refreshing atmosphere due to loud noise from the next room and slow ventilation. Additionally, the area around the hotel was full of homeless people, so I had to give up on taking a walk. I did not get a good impression, and I think this contributed to the hotel's tarnished image.

Hotel Fine, Location a Big Miss
Pros:

Stayed here for three nights recently at the tail end of a business trip. Booked it based on location and price without taking the reviews seriously about the safety issues outside/surrounding the hotel (I mistakenly thought people were exaggerating).

To be clear - the hotel itself is fine (a nice, newer Hilton) but it is located in a very unsafe part of Calgary and the surrounding blocks, alley on the way to the parking lot, and whole area really are crawling with unhoused and many clearly unwell people. I am generally calm in these situations and grew up in a city where this is common, but I felt unsafe multiple times walking to and from the hotel (e.g., nearby Superstore for groceries saw security arguing with a homeless man, the Tim Hortons next door for breakfast saw a woman yell at everyone in the lineup for how we were dressed?). We saw open drug use (injections, crack smoking), yelling/fights, and people passed out all within one block of here over the course of our short stay. Fine if you cab/Uber straight to the front door both coming and going, a problem if you're like us an enjoy walking/exploring.

While this is not the hotels fault in any way, I bring it up so anyone who feels unsettled with this may choose to book elsewhere.

Pros:

A very clean and nice hotel, with plenty of parking spaces near the hotel.

Cons:

I understand that the hotel is not responsible for this, but our windows faced the inner courtyard and there was an unusually large presence of homeless people struggling with drug addiction. It looked very disturbing, almost like something out of a zombie movie.

The breakfasts were also very poor: the bacon was like chips, the powdered scrambled eggs were bad, and the coffee was awful. In my opinion, it’s better to eat at McDonald’s.

It was ok.
Pros:

Location and parking.

Cons:

We had to try 4-5 times to get into the garage as the initial profile they had to set up to get access to the underground parking wasn’t working which required me to park and go inside about 4 times which was extremely frustrating. And when they looked into to finally get it working it was an error on their end.

The location. Didn’t feel comfortable going out to walk any where due to the number of homeless in such close proximity. Police and EMS constantly picking up people.

Comfortable Hotel in downtown calgary
Pros:

We stayed one night in this hotel as part of our road trip . The hotel is situated in downtown calgary .which is ideal for the airport. The hotel has underground parking which is ideal and probably the safest option due to the location. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and modern. There are good options for breakfast, lunch and dinner within the hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are well appointed, clean and tidy. Modern decor and amenities. This makes up for it's location. There is a high level of homeless and drug abuse by people on the streets which can have an unsettling effect on tourists . I personally did not feel comfortable to explore the city because of this . However ,this is not the hotels fault . The hotel has security in place that moves any potential troubles on . I would have given 5 stars only for this homeless/drug abuse area/problem.
