Good stay.
Pros:

I loved the location which was very close to the Bow River (5 minute walk).

Cons:

The room was a bit tight considering that this is a Hilton compared to other locations. Had to pay for parking.

Solid, decent hotel for a stopover
Pros:

Solid all round hotel, ideal for the end of two weeks' hiking up in the national parks. Reasonable restaurant, decent facilities. Central location with easy access to the airport.

Cons:

Nothing much to say.

Best Hilton Garden Inn
Pros:

The best Hilton Garden Inn we have visited! Great location; across the street for food and beverage shopping, half a mile to Calgary Stampede, walking distance to Steven’s Ave shopping. Terrific on-premise bar and restaurant with very helpful employees. Rooms were great and garage level parking very convenient.

Great location in east village near downtown. Breakfast was a downside but otherwise nice rooms, bar and good service at the reception.

Great hotel, less than ideal neighbourhood
Pros:

Loved the hotel. The room was great, the staff were attentive, and everything was clean and well maintained. The location is also very convenient and close to just about everything.

The only downside is the neighbourhood. There are a lot of people experiencing homelessness, and there is very visible drug use in the area. It can make walking around feel uneasy, especially at night, but even during the day at times.

That said, my reaction was less frustration and more sadness. It’s heartbreaking to see so many people clearly struggling and in such dire need of help and support.

This isn’t a criticism of the hotel, which was excellent. It’s simply something visitors should be aware of when deciding where to stay.
