Very clean and lovely staff. Beautiful lake view.
It was very lonely, it felt unsafe
Great place to visit
Quick stay but a nice place. Close to Orange Walk.
The hotel was amazing! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food at the hotel restaurant was delicious. The views of the river from our balcony were spectacular. And, it just felt so peaceful sitting at the outdoor palapa-style restaurant/bar, enjoying the quiet air, listening to the birds, and having fun watching for our crocodile friend in the river, lol! We were in room 1A which was on the lower level, closest to the restaurant. It had a nice corner view of the river, just lovely. The bed was comfortable and we had hot water (as opposed to our neighbors who claimed they never got hot water in their shower, so I guess we lucked out!). We booked the Lamanai Mayan Ruin tour through the hotel. They picked us up at their dock right at the hotel which was super convenient in that we didn't have to get transportation to the pick-up spot. The Orange Walk town is about a 10 min drive from the hotel, but the staff was able to get us a taxi to the town so that was a fun day checking out the main town. The ONLY issue I had was the shower situation. It was a smallish corner-style shower with no door or curtain, so water would get all over the bathroom floor after we showered. It made a mess and we had to be careful not to slip on the wet floor after showering. Other than that, everything was great, and we would definitely come back to this hotel!
Great
Great staff. Some updates needed.
I love this place by the river. We took a river trip with a guide, Almir and he was the bomb. Food was great.
Staff was amazing and helpful. Mattresses were awful. (Literally felt springs with every movement, and I only weigh 135 pounds). The water was peaceful. Restaurant choices were limited but fine for a short stay.
Good place to take the river boat tour to the maya ruins from.
Good place to sleep and have some time off
Absolutely wonderful place to stay! Great people, solitude right off the highway! Wonder manager!!!
On arrival there was a friendly welcome from Nate and although we were early our room was ready.
The hotel has a bar and restaurant which operates separately from the hotel, it's called The Deck. It is open most of the day and looks out over the lake which is really pleasant and good for spotting various birds and small crocodiles. The restaurant is supposed to be closed on Tuesdays but luckily they were open when we were there. Best to check.
The hotel office can help with tours if needed. They arranged the Lamanai boat tour for us which we really enjoyed.
We were happy with our room which was huge, with a very big comfortable bed, and it had a balcony.
There was plenty of hanging space. The air-conditioning worked well. There was a hairdryer in the room and also a TV. We wanted to watch some TV, maybe see some local channels, as we relaxed in the room in the evening, but we could only get the apps to work, such as Netflix, intermittently.
The bathroom had some toiletries and plenty of towels and loo roll, however due to limescale around the taps and shower it meant that the water didn't flow very well. The shower was just a trickle really.
Orange Walk Town is around 8km away so you need your own car or a taxi to get in for dinner. We decided to stay in the hotel, and the dinners we had there had plenty of choice, and we really enjoyed everything we ate over the 4 evenings.
All staff were really friendly and helpful.
This place is awesome. It's just a couple minutes outside of the town of Orange Walk and all of the rooms overhang a beautiful little lagoon. The staff is amazing, friendly and very attentive. The restaurant and bar are covered by a beautiful huge palapa. The restaurant has great food, breakfast lunch and dinner. They cook traditional Belizean food as well as other options like steak pasta and seafood. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The showers here are high pressure and hot water!!! Which is kind of unusual for Belize. I stayed here for 2 years in a row and I would go back.

The road is closeby so there is a little bit of traffic noise but it didn't bother us too much.

We decided to stay in the hotel, and the dinners we had there had plenty of choice, and we really enjoyed everything we ate over the 4 evenings. Breakfasts were also good. Note that the drip coffee which is available (self serve) at breakfast is charged extra to the breakfast which wasn't clear to us, so the bill added up over the 4 mornings. It was very nice coffee though. The waiting staff and all other staff in the hotel were all very nice.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.
Stay was okay. We didnt have hot water until the morning we left. The restaurant was pretty good but the cocktails were almost mocktails. Staff was very friendly, Nate especially.
If you go, here's what you need to know: (1) MOST IMPORTANT thing to know is to book a riverboat tour to the Lamanai Ruins with Tyron. He's absolutely amazing and your full day tour experience will be unforgettable. It was our best tour in Belize by far; (2) the restaurant is great, especially the shrimp ceviche; and (3) the place is very family friendly and chill. It feels like an authentic Belizean experience. It's down to earth and there is wildlife galore, including a baby crocodile that lives in the water and we got to see!
Nice rooms immersed in a wonderful landscape. Clean and personable staff. Not really at a walkable distance from Orange Walk.
This was my favorite part of our trip. There were so many birds and wildlife literally outside the front porch first thing in the mornings. Waking up at about 6:00am proved to be worth it , as the morning fog was mystical with all the jungle sounds. It was absolutely stunning. The food was UNBELIEVABLE, the staff was so kind and caring- the Lamanai boat tour is a once in a life time experience, us and other visitors were raving about it. The people we met were from all over the world, and everyone was having a blast. It’s a short $12.00US Dollar ride to Orange Walk to enjoy the town and the locals.
Beyond a good experience.
This hotel could have been a marvellous place, but is isn’t. First the relative nice things, the rooms. The bedroom are spacious with comfortable bed’s and both fans and aircondition. A small but nice terrace to sit and watch over the small lagune. However, the bathroom is cramp and not very practical. Then to the not so nice part, the restaurant and the food. It’s just a catastrophe, no more to say. Most on the menu isn’t available and the few things left are more or less unbeatable. The staff do their best but maybe they should just make a new shorter menu and actually try to serve these dishes in a descent way? I hope they can recover cause this place have a good location and tourists are coming to the area to see the Lamanai archeological site, soo they should have a chance to do good business, but in their current state it’s not recommended to stay ( and eat) here.
