The price but actually it was nice to treat ourselves and really relax in an upmarket, luxurious place so I don’t begrudge it at all!
Beautiful hotel, former home and used by the Queen and Prince Philip. Interesting history and big rooms.
The TV is a nightmare. It’s so complicated even the staff couldn’t find the normal tv channels.
Breakfast excellent
It would have been good to order dinner later as last orders were 7.45 and we couldn’t get back in time for hot food - however their cheese platter is excellent!

No air con.
Wonderful setting, great food. Lovely room with great views.
Being a very old building there is no air con so south facing room was quite warm, but it was the middle of a heat wave. Also the lift was very slow and most people used the stairs.
Superb breakfast in a lovely environment. Great service.
We loved the room, but the sound insulation wasn't great. Fortunately our room neighbours were fairly quiet.
The service was wonderful from all the team members we met and thank you especially to Jasmine for making us feel so welcome.
The vegan food at breakfast (thank you, Sam, for your suggestions), at high tea and at supper was all wonderful. The terrace was a great spot and the staff were attentive and friendly. The chaps on the team (whose names we didn't catch) were brilliant at quietly looking after very well as well.
The bed was comfortable and the room a good size, with a view of a beautiful courtyard garden. The bathroom and its shower were good. The desk was a good size to do some urgent laptop work on.
The atmosphere was quiet and the other guests politely friendly and seemed as relaxed as we realised we felt within only minutes of arriving.
