I had a very pleasant stay at Tropic Inn. The highlights were definitely the location and the outstanding staff. A special shoutout to Ravin for exceptional service throughout my stay, and to Thuwan, who was incredibly accommodating and helped sort out a late checkout for me.
The cleanliness across the property was top-notch—the room, bathroom (with great hot water), and common areas were all spotless. The property also felt very safe and secure. The location is unbeatable: just a short walk to the beach, the main road, local shops, cafes, and a laundromat.
Highlights:
- Outstanding staff: Special thanks to Ravin for exceptional service and Thuwan for kindly helping with late checkout.
- Spotless & secure: Rooms, public areas, and bathrooms (with great hot water) were very clean, and the property felt safe.
- Prime location: Walking distance to the beach, main road, shops, cafes, and laundromat.
A couple of minor areas for improvement:
- Noise levels: It gets a bit noisy at times as the windows don't appear double-glazed or tightly sealed against outside sounds.
- Slow internet: Wi-Fi was very slow to the point of being unusable.
- Dated flooring: The bedroom floors look rundown and could use a refresh.
The staff, especially the young boys who are working for the hotel are very attentive
I noticed that there was makeup on the pillowcase and it seemed like maybe they hadn’t changed the sheets on one of the beds and I also found a used soap in the shower which made me question whether they had cleaned the bathroom properly.

There was a manager guy who treated as terrorists when trying to checkout. Made us wait outside around 20 mins
I had enjoyes the quiernrss and facilities. It is close to Galle road too.
On weekends some times it could be loud.
Really liked the location - really close to the beach and within walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants around. Staff were all really helpful, especially considering this was a last minute booking for me.
There was a nighclub really close by so there was audible music even as late as 2am.
Very clean and location is perfect. You can go 5mins walk by beach. Restaurant foods are tasty.
