We had such a lovely stay! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and incredibly pet-friendly. Everyone went out of their way to welcome my dog, she even got introduced to the kitchen team!

The front desk was always quick to respond and happy to help with anything we needed. We happened to visit during the heatwave, so sadly hiking wasn’t really an option, but luckily the beautiful surroundings gave my dog plenty to explore and enjoy.

I loved the gardens and the path down to the Lake was lovely. good open field for my dogs to run in. The bar was well stocked with coffees and teas. Close to Windermere but very busy road. The breakfast was tasty and substantial.

Lakeside location, private parklands, room, food and in particular the dog friendly staff. Grace fell I. Love with our dog and got him special treats and lots of attention.

The hotels grounds are amazing it has its own private section of the lake. Staff are very friendly.

The hotel location is sensational with lovely gardens and a huge frontage of Windermere lake. Our room was very nice with a ground level patio. The building is quite interesting with additions and we needed to go outside to get to the bar and restaurant. This didn’t spoil our stay. We shared a bar meal which was excellent as was our breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

After looking round several venues in the Lake District we knew straight away this was the perfect venue for our wedding . The venue and its grounds are stunning with views like no other . Our wedding day was just perfect , and was so easy to organise with the help from the wedding team from start to finish. . We chose the Windermere package which includes reception drinks and canapés for us and all our guests on a boat tour of lake Windermere which was a special touch . The food we had was excellent , from the breakfasts to the wedding meal itself everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food . The wedding organisers and hotel staff were all amazing very friendly and made our day very easy and stress free , from decorating our room to organising everything exactly how we wanted . Special mentions to Matilda , Dan, Gracie and Brad who made us feel like family all weekend and nothing was too much trouble . We can not rate this venue highly enough our wedding day was just perfect and the scenery speaks volumes . We will definately be returning in the future to such a wonderful place . Where to begin? We had stayed at Cragwood a few times ahead of booking our wedding and we always thoroughly enjoyed our stay. So when it came to finding the perfect venue for our big day, Cragwood was top of the list. From the very beginning of our wedding journey, the Cragwood team were phenomenal. We had several meetings with the wedding co-ordinators, many visits, lots of email chains and the staff were always so welcoming, eager to help and friendly.
We put together our perfect package, and the team made it super easy to contact them, make changes, ask questions.. the communication could not have been better.
We had exclusive use of the hotel for 2 nights for our wedding which we were very excited about. When we arrived on the Friday, it was a truly warm welcome. Mathilda (wedding co-ordinator) had absolutely everything in hand, putting us at ease, and ensuring we had everything we needed. She was amazing throughout the whole weekend! As a very organised bride, l had absolutely nothing to worry about. I was able to focus on my big day with complete relaxation!
The whole team, were beyond accommodating towards us and our guests. We could honestly not be more grateful. The team are so friendly, humourous and helpful. A special mention to Grace who is just an absolute star.. my goodness that lady goes above and beyond. So many of our guests had compliments for her due to her kind, chatty nature. The day after our wedding while feeling a little worse for wear.. Grace took such good care of us and even managed to get us into our room a little earlier than check-in which was much appreciated!
Our wedding day was beyond compare.. the venue and the grounds are just stunning. The team work hard to maintain the upkeep of the gardens, and hotel and it really shows. Our photos are unbelievable. Our wedding breakfast was the talk of the day! Everyone absolutely loved the food.. it was just.. exceptional.
Everything ran flawlessly.. as discussed, as expected.. as we had hoped.
The day was without a doubt.. perfect.
