AC Hotel by Marriott Phoenix Tempe/Downtown

AC Hotel in Tempe was a pleasant surprise. The staff was lovely and really helped accommodate us. We travel a lot, and we recognize the efforts people make. Daniel was really helpful in helping us.
The corner units are very nice. However, the traffic along Rio Salado Pkwy is extremely noisy, so if you're a light sleeper, avoid these rooms. There is also a lot of airplane traffic directly overhead. However, the rooms are lovely and appointed nicely. The floor-to-ceiling windows are fantastic for views. Location is great for ASU or Marquee theater events.
Rooftop pool is super-cool with great views of the mountains and surrounding town.

Note to Marriott in general...stop installing glass bathroom entry doors. Was there left-over shower supplies? So annoying not only being woken up in the middle of the night with bright bathroom lights shining directly into the bedroom, but there's also zero privacy. Springhill Suites also does this and I avoid them now when not traveling alone.
Negatives: Room rates are decent here, but add in the $20 for parking, which is across the street.

Location, Breakfast buffet, Staff, and Room Cleanliness

Really like this hotel! Great staff, especially Jack Gurries on this trip. And Ronnie too. Nice pool with views on the top floor too. I come here every year for a business meeting.

Breakfast was great when it was cooked to order. The breakfast bar wasn't bad at all.

I’ve stayed at this hotel every time I visit Tempe for work and I am always impressed by the service and how personable everyone is from the front desk staff and the daily interactions I have with other staff members. I particularly want to call out Chandler who is such an amazing staff member at the AC hotel. He is attentive to your needs, friendly and professional. He remembered my name even with a brief encounter and when he found out my flight was delayed he wanted to make sure I would not be hungry during the wait. He thought about my needs even before I did. Thank you chandler and the AC team.

Staff are some of the best I’ve ever encountered. From the front desk to the restaurant, the team went above and beyond. Shout out to Chandler, after meeting once, he greeted me by name every day after. Can’t say enough about Ronnie at the front desk as well. A+ Team!

The service from Chandler in the breakfast bar and Rodney at the front desk are bar far the best service I have had in years. These are the type of people that make stays away from home pleasant.

Chandler and Ronnie were incredible! Every morning Chandler said hi, made me a latter and remember my breakfast order - I felt at home. At upon retiring to the hotel, Ronnie greeted me every time and was extremely friendly. This hotel is a gem.

Absolutely the best in all facets. Location on Tempe Town lake is fantastic. The property is modern and every attribute clean and classy. The front desk staff is next level. Carlos and Johnnie provide exceptional customer service and accommodate business needs exceptionally. My go to for visiting ASU!

Truly an exceptional experience from check-in to check-out. Design is contemporary and chic with great luxury touches. Hotel location is close to the hustle and bustle but in a quiet area right next to the water. Great for walks, running, sunsets, or even boat rentals. Special mention to the breakfast pastries and the two gentleman, Chandler and Logan, who greeted you by name every morning taking the experience to the next level. Absolutely would recommend.
