Beautiful old hotel, comfortable en suite room.
Pros:

Like stepping back in time it was amazing

Super convenient location to Wilderness Railway. Room has clean and comfortable. Electric blankets were a bonus. Meal in the dining room was superb.

Cons:

The hotel is gorgeous. Lit up at night, she is a true beauty. Unfortunately Queenstown itself is a little tired. Apart from the railway there is little else. The Wilderness Railway trip is well worth every dollar and I would recommend booking early and paying for the upgrade to the premium carriage.

Great place to stay for a couple of nights. Loved it and would return and definitely recommend.
Pros:

Very happy with my room. Comfortable, spacious, warm, clean and well-equipped.

Cons:

The stairs are glorious! But for an oldie like me, trying to drag my suitcase up them was a real challenge. Luckily a bloke stepped in and helped me, which I was very grateful for. Also, with the continental breakfast (much appreciated) a whole-grain toast option would be nice.

Grand old hotel
Pros:

Location was great and staff very helpful. A beautiful old hotel with fantastic meals.

Cons:

Room was as described but quite small for the rate. Clean and tidy with comfy bed.

Location of the hotek was good

Cons:

Room was small not as shown in photos. There was a small heater in wall from which the heat wasn’t coming through even though it was a tiny room and bed. Location of the hotek was good and staff were also not very friendly

Great location.
Pros:

Location right next to the railway which was why we were there. The historic nature of the hotel.

Cons:

The continental breakfast, it is complimentary, had run out of juice for us and cereal for some others. Not a big issue as we then got a coffee at the rail station.
