We booked a family room and had an evening meal which was exceptional.

Grand old hotel
Pros:

Location was great and staff very helpful. A beautiful old hotel with fantastic meals.

Cons:

Room was as described but quite small for the rate. Clean and tidy with comfy bed.

Location of the hotek was good

Cons:

Room was small not as shown in photos. There was a small heater in wall from which the heat wasn’t coming through even though it was a tiny room and bed. Location of the hotek was good and staff were also not very friendly

Great location.
Pros:

Location right next to the railway which was why we were there. The historic nature of the hotel.

Cons:

The continental breakfast, it is complimentary, had run out of juice for us and cereal for some others. Not a big issue as we then got a coffee at the rail station.

Peaceful hotel in a peaceful town.
Pros:

Nice location. The building and interior are very beautiful. Even though it’s an old building. Thought we might hear the noise all night. But it’s just opposite. We slept all night long.

Beautiful Heritage Building, Great Bathrooms!
Pros:

The bathrooms were updated, very clean with excellent showers, quality towels

Cons:

The rest was awful. Service was horrendous.Couldn’t eat our dinner, when it arrived 55 minutes after ordering two burgers!

The Bar staff were friendly and competent.
