Categories

Cleanliness
5.2
Multiple reviews mention dirty areas (nappy in bin, 'dirty in places') and dated/unclean details; cleanliness is a clear weak point.
Service
8.9
Staff are frequently described as helpful and friendly (helped change rooms, very good staff, helpful bar staff), though some reports of indifferent or rude housekeeping and occasional slow service were noted.
Location
9.3
Location is repeatedly praised (convenient, near golf course, great location) and is a strong positive across reviews.
Room Quality
8.3
Many guests mention comfortable beds and spacious, clean rooms, but several note dated rooms, poor shower pressure, poor views or ventilation — generally good but inconsistently maintained.
Amenities
8
Leisure facilities and a large reception area are appreciated, though the swimming pool and some facilities are described as outdated and in need of refurbishment.
Value for Money
5.8
Several guests explicitly say the hotel is overpriced (not good value at peak times, expensive checkout extension charge); value is a recurring concern.
Food and Beverage
8.4
Food is frequently praised as lovely/good, though some mention small portions, warm buffet items, and slow service at times.
Overall Experience
7.7
Mixed overall impressions: many enjoyed the location, staff and food for a pleasant stay, but cleanliness, dated decor and perceived poor value reduced overall satisfaction.

Lovley setting but rooms need a bit of updating
Pros:

But plenty on offer. Easy access to a table and comfortable seats and booths.

Cons:

Breakfast ingredients were a bit low quality. The restaurant was very warm and that made the breakfast a bit uncomfortable

Pros:

The breakfast and location

Cons:

The room was cold and had to ring a few times to get the heating turned on and it was only on a very short time so was very disappointed with that

Pros:

Excellent location for beach and town. The family room for 2 adults and 2 children was great. Plenty of room and beds.
Food was very good although breakfast time in restaurant was busy. Bar food very good.

Cons:

Pancake maker machine at breakfast was too slow.
No play park for children is a big miss. More children's activities would be good.

Pros:

Stunning views, I went here for a tattoo convention and it's a lovely place with a good bar and nice food.

Cons:

I think I just got unlucky because there were a lot of moths in my room.
This it needs a little updating in the rooms.

Beautiful hotel - not good value for money at peak times
Pros:

Spacious and clean rooms, lovely food, mostly friendly staff, live music, nice leisure facilities.

Cons:

Had to wait a very long time for food in the evening, had to queue a long time for breakfast in the morning, and the housekeeping staff we encountered were rude and unfriendly. All of these comments were taken to the duty manager and she was very apologeti and kind.

I paid Bank Holiday premium for our stay and didn't feel it was value for money. I also think charging 25 euro per hour for an extension to checkout is very expensive.
