Hotel Playa Mondrago

Nothing in our room when we arrived. No tea or coffee or drinking water or fruit etc.
As we arrived late, this was a big disappointment because there was nowhere around to buy anything

The hotel hasn’t been renovated for a long time. The furniture and bed linen are old. We booked a stay with breakfast and dinner included, but it turned out that drinks were not included, and at dinner you even have to pay extra for something as simple as a tea bag.

Cleaning was practically non-existent.

Nous sommes restés seulement 2 jours et, dès notre arrivée, le siphon de la cuisine était bouché. Ce n’est franchement pas très agréable de devoir déboucher soi-même un siphon pendant un si court séjour.

La propreté de la chambre laissait également à désirer : serviettes et draps tachés, sol sale… La femme de ménage a frappé à notre porte à 9h30 pour faire le ménage, mais à notre retour dans la chambre, rien n’avait été nettoyé. Le lendemain, la femme de ménage est passée et on se demande ce qui a réellement été fait.

La salle de bain manque également clairement d’aération. Après une simple douche, une forte odeur d’humidité, voire de fermentation, apparaissait quelques heures plus tard, ce qui était particulièrement désagréable.

Autre déception : la réservation indiquait une « vue mer ». En réalité, la seule chose que nous voyions depuis notre fenêtre était l’arbre situé juste devant. Pour apercevoir la mer, il fallait vraiment la chercher…

The hotel is quite old and needs renovation. Terrible color, ugly and old towels that should have been thrown in the trash 10 years ago were disgusting to pick up and use. Horrible sun loungers by the pool, fabric with cadaveric stains from dead grandmothers on them 🙀. The air conditioning practically doesn't work and it was especially hot at night. The plumbing in the bathroom is old, the shower didn't work and there was a bad smell of shit from the bathtub at night. Breakfast was nothing tasty, especially the coffee from the machine 🤮. And for all these pleasures, the price was over 400€ for 1 night, like in a 5^ hotel (

The management of this place couldn’t care less about its cleanliness and it that way, also the safety of their guests. I never thought both me and my fiancee could get caught INFECTION MOST LIKELY FROM THE UNCLEANED A/C that caused us sick until the very end of our holiday and despite leaving this horrible place after 3 days!
No doubt the most appalling thing about this place is a complete lack of any hygiene standards. In theory, the rooms are cleaned every day but that’s just a bad joke. In fact the only noticeable change after the housekeeping service visit was them leaving their own hair on bed sheets and, I’m sorry to say, a bad smell as well. Speaking of that, you can be a 100% sure that the terrible smell will be in your room throughout your entire stay (maybe apart from the very first chlorine- heavy cleaning). This probably comes from the dampness in the property and poorly functioning air conditioning system that additionally turns off everytime you leave the room. We stayed there at the beginning of September and the room was like an oven plus there was a constant terrible odor. Even changing of the room didn’t help because the entire property has the same ridiculous air conditioning system. Even though the AC barely works, it probably hasn’t been serviced or cleaned since the hotel was built in the 1960s. My partner got sick on the second day and two days later so I did (and believe me, I am not someone who falls sick easily), which was most likely caused by the bacteria and mold in the AC. For me, this place shouldn't be allowed to host guests at all.
Moreover, after we left the towels on the floor - which meant we wanted them replaced - the cleaning service simply hung the same stained towels back on the racks. The bedding was dirty and smelly, making me doubt whether it had been changed after the previous guests. The breakfast is disgusting, everything is made from powder - the coffee, the juices and the scrambled eggs.

Die Zimmer sind sehr schön renoviert, aber man müsste sie trotzdem sauber machen. Die Bestellung und Abrechnung im Restaurant funktioniert wohl gar nicht. Man fühlt sich als Gast auch nicht willkommen. Die Zuweisung der Tische beim Frühstück setzt dann einfach noch einen drauf.

Não retiraram lixo do banheiro. Entraram no meu quarto antes da saída para troca de frigobar e deixaram a porta do meu quarto aberta…Não tinha problema o frigobar. O que não funciona bem é o ar condicionado apesar de um funcionário ir no quarto fazer o reset.

Someone crashed into our car while parked at the hotel private car park. When asked to provide images of the camera, the hotel staff refused it. Also had a very bad attitude toward it. I wasn't sure why they behaved that way but that's not how hotel staff should deal with something like that inside their permessses.

Não temos muito controle sobre o ar condicionado. Tem uma limitação pre estabelecida pelo hotel e nao nos permite ajustar a temperaturas mais baixas. Em um dos dias, por conta de uma tormenta, o ar deixou de funcionar por uma noite.
