The staff very friendly and helpful. Amazing variety of food for Brekky., amazing view at Brekky for sunrise.
We had staff assist us getting a new SIM card from a shop fown the road, helped set it up for us with it being in Brazil Portuguese language.
On our 2nd stay at the hotel the staff gave us a free room upgrade, which was a really amazing touch.
On our final day we was able to store our luggage for free, take a shower before leaving for the airport.
After a long journey to Rio, walking into the Ritz Copacabana was a complete relief. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived, and the hotel was spotless, always smelling fresh and clean.
What says the most about this hotel is that we actually stayed elsewhere during our trip, thinking another location would be better. We couldn't have been more wrong. We enjoyed our first stay so much that we returned as soon as we could.
The breakfast is exceptional, with a fantastic selection and everything beautifully presented. The view from the restaurant at sunrise is absolutely incredible and made breakfast even more special each morning. The rooftop bar and pool area are stunning, with amazing views and a great atmosphere. A special mention to the barman who made the best piña coladas we had in Copacabana and we tried quite a few!
The location is perfect, just moments from the beach, supermarkets and pharmacies. The room amenities were another highlight. The shampoo, conditioner and body lotion smelled incredible and felt luxurious, as someone with long hair extensions, I was genuinely impressed by how good the hairdryer was. The smart TV with Netflix access was also a lovely touch for relaxing after a day exploring Rio.
I wish I could upload the video I took because the photos don't fully capture how beautiful the hotel, the rooftop area, and the views really are.
Overall, this was easily our favourite hotel of the trip. Fantastic staff, excellent facilities and a wonderful atmosphere. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio.
It being sold out on our final night however, this is our own fault…

The location is perfectly situated for access to Copacabana beach and for public transport. The hotel staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome. We enjoyed a free room upgrade and the corner room was spacious. The included breakfast was good and the restaurant has a great view.
Partly because of the location and partly because of the lack of carpets in the hotel, it can be quite noisy… the windows do not muffle the street noise and guests and cleaners can be heard in neighbouring rooms and in the lift lobby as the sounds carry throughout the building. The cleaners ignored the do not disturb sign on several occasions. I found it strange that the hotel does not provide any complimentary water in the room (the water that is on offer at breakfast seems to be tap water and tastes of mould).
I stayed here for a couple of nights and overall had a really good experience. The room I ended up staying in was spacious, clean, had great airflow, and a beautiful view of the beach. The hotel itself is well-maintained, and everything felt very clean and cared for.
The staff was also very friendly and accommodating, especially the gentleman working overnight whose name started with an F(Fabio, I believe). He was extremely helpful and made the stay feel welcoming.
The main downside for me was the Wi-Fi. I was not able to connect properly because the network did not seem to allow VPN use, which was an issue since I work remotely and do not use unsecured networks without a VPN. That was the main reason I did not extend my stay longer.
The beds were also a little firmer than I personally prefer, but otherwise, the hotel was great. I would recommend it, especially for the location, cleanliness, staff, and views. The water pressure in the shower was unbeatable, too! Very luxurious.
