Very unsafe neighborhood, the worse customer service, the staff is Not caring, Not helpfull to our n

To begin with the way the man treated us when we checked in was poorly, he is a disrespectful man, his character, body language, tone of voice, worse customer service i have ever received. The room was right next to a construction site, attached to our room, many men working with loud heavy equipment from 6:15 am to 8pm. including Saturday & Sunday. I spoke with the staff about this huge annoying, very loud disturbing problem and they didn't care, said no other room available, The elevator got stuck everyday, ny granddaughter and i got stuck twice inside, i called 911 the first time, cancelled because we were able to get out. Everything inside the room, was dirty, the sheets smelled dirty, it smelled like someone had smoje inside, the carpet smelled musky, old smell. The neighborhood is very unsafe, dirty, nasty, with broken, dirty, uneven sidewaljs, and streets, with a huge homeless population, who are drug addicts, alcoholics, aggressive, violent, mentally disturbrd, we were attacked twice, horrific experience overall!

As a senior citizen, traveling with my teenage granddaughter we deserved much better overall treatment and a mucg bettrr safe place to stay. I'm very dissapointed, upset about our experience for many reasons

Pros:

Hotel très bien situé, face au Byward et non loin de tout ce qu'on voulait visiter : le Rideau, la colline du parlement, le musée d'art moderne... De nombreux points de restaurations, mais à mon avis chers par rapport à ce qui est proposé : zone touristique. La chambre était superbe, au 15e, vue sur l'arrière du quartier, lits extra confortables ! malgré les travaux sur la tour derrière, pas trop de bruit à cet étage (bouchons d'oreilles proposés, pas utilisés).

Tolles, zentrumnahes Hotel mit großem Zimmer.
Pros:

Sehr großes und modern eingerichtetes Zimmer. Zentrale Lage, Byward Market in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Freundliche Mitarbeiter. Tolle Roof-top-Bar.

Cons:

Unser Zimmer war zur Straße, trotz geschlossener Fenster war der Straßenlärm deutlich hörbar.

Geht lieber wo anders hin!

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Ausblick gebucht und haben ein Zimmer bekommen mit Ausblick auf eine Baustelle, welche schon früh morgens einen extrem Krach gemacht hat, sodass man nicht schlafen konnte.
Das Gepäck musste ich leider selber schleppen. Das ist definitiv keine Andaz Klasse!

Great value accommodation
Pros:

Location was great, close by to attractions. Staff were happy to provide whatever we requested. Free complimentary upgrade was greatly appreciated.

I would happily stay at the Andaz again .
Pros:

The location is very good for that area .
The room was comfortable, cool and clean .
The roof top , Copper bar , is excellent . Great views .
Breakfast was reasonably priced and very good .
I almost forgot the best part of the room was the clothes hangers in the wardrobe : plenty of them and more surprising , to find four beautiful padded hangers !

Cons:

The reception area lets the hotel down . Just two small desks in a fairly small space .
Another chair in the bedroom would have been very welcome .

Not cheap but not to expensive.

I returned for a closing drink, after walking round the market. Same bar staff but much better experience. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. A little light conversation and well prepared negroni (although the ice quality could improve).

Cons:

The service in the bar was a little lacking in hospitality and a bit slow the first time I came in the early evening (8ish). I was sat at the bar then no contact from the bar staff. No hello, I just waited.. when I did get served, it was brief and mechanical. So I left earlier. No one was rude. But the Caesar was banging. I loved the pickled bean and the salt rim was balanced with other flavours.

When I left there were 2 reception staff, 1 male and 1 female, who didn't acknowledge me on the way out. They were busy with there own conversation.

Top quality hotel, centrally located. Construction noise though
Pros:

Very nice rooms and decor throughout the hotel. Done to a high standard. Facilities were very good including a rooftop gallery with service

Cons:

There is a big construction site across the road. Work started very early so don't expect to get sleep after that !
