The peace and serenity of the view. The architecture and spaciousness of the room.
Overpriced. The room was nice and large, but the swing on the balcony was very uncomfortable to sit in and kept banging against the glass doors. I’d prefer a comfy lounge chair

Actually everything was fabulous
Le cadre est exceptionnel. La chambre était immense avec une vue magnifique sur Little Adam’s peak. Pour ce qui est du confort de la literie, on avait l’impression de dormir sur un nuage.
Le ménage est également fait tous les jours pendant que vous prenez votre petit-déjeuner.
Le petit-déjeuner était succulent et vous pouvez choisir plusieurs plats à la carte. Par contre, le buffet est limité mais ce n’est pas grave car la carte compense largement.
Par ailleurs, les conducteurs des buggy sont d’une extrême gentillesse.
Le personnel, notamment à la réception, manque cruellement de vivacité. Pour un établissement d’un tel standing, le service n’y est pas encore à la hauteur.
Par exemple, nous avions pris une grosse pluie et arrivés à l’hôtel, aucune initiative de nous donner un parapluie pour nous couvrir.
Aussi, la réceptionniste a complètement oublié de nous prévenir que notre chambre était prête. Il a fallu que je contacte l’hôtel pour obtenir les informations. Ceci étant dit, le manager s’est excusé et nous a offert une bouteille de vin et des fruits.
De plus, le tarif pour un pickup depuis la gare (10min en voiture) est de 6000 LKR. Alors que le prix ne devrait pas dépasser les 1500 LKR. Pour un hôtel d’un prestige pareil, le service devrait être offert. Il ne faut pas toujours amalgamer luxe avec classe.
La piscine est quant à elle assez petite, contrairement aux photos.

There were many staff members in the dining room but despite that the service was inefficient. The food for breakfast was very average in quality and variety and dinner items all seemed to taste similar. Having been to other high end properties in Sri Lanka, we felt that this property was highly overpriced
Had a wonderful stay at 98 Acres Resort. The views are absolutely stunning and the overall experience was fantastic. A special mention to Mangala and Niroshan from the restaurant team — they were incredibly warm, attentive, and made our stay even more memorable with their hospitality.
The only small downside was that some of the materials and finishes used in the washroom didn’t quite feel value for money compared to the otherwise premium experience of the property.
That said, the hospitality, location, and breathtaking views more than make up for it. Overall, a solid 5-star experience and I would definitely recommend staying here while visiting Ella.
Every detail of this resort is a luxury treatment. The staff is above par and the environment itself unwinds you. I visited 2nd time and it is Definitely worth it the 3rd time too
My wife and I have been touring Sri Lanka on a very long awaited holiday that we promised ourselves that we would definitely do. We booked our holiday via Rickshaw as they were able to turn our dream into reality and out of 12 great hotels, 98 Acres at Ella has been the absolute dream location. The views from our room/balcony was breathtaking and comfortably lying on a huge circular swing, you could experience the view and spend time just taking it all in. The staff were so polite, so professional and no request was too much trouble. The choice of food, whether breakfast or dinner was exceptional and was perfectly prepared, presented and tasted better than expected.
This hotel is a ‘must-do’ if you visit Sri Lanka. We have stayed at many ‘luxury’ hotels around the world, but 98 Acres top of our list, by a mile!
