Lovely food
Amazing hotel room with lovely bathroom and balcony to relax
No AC
The Front Office Manager Pragash was absolutely lovely and very helpful. The restaurant has a great view and the food was lovely. They assisted in organising not just the activities but also a lovely transfer to my next destination.
Bonus for those who are dog lovers, their resident dogs kuku and (I'll call him) brown are so well mannered and give you great quiet company during a meal!
The spa was a little underwhelming. After having heard so many reviews about it being a must visit, the short experience I had at the spa was disappointing. It was very hot and given it was a fairly dry / humid day with no wind it got very uncomfortable. The treatment itself was alright but the little flies and uncomfortable chair makes you want to rush to get out of there!

They did not have Indian breakfast and very limited and repetitive breakfast.
Beautiful hotel, great location
The room was beautiful but it had no air conditioner, only a fan so it was hot sometimes. Also for the price they charge the service and attention to details could be better.
A huge thank you to Satheesh at the pool for providing such excellent service and taking great care of us. He was so polite and kind. In fact, all the staff at the hotel are wonderful, and it is truly because of him and a few other staff members that we will return to this place. We highly recommend this hotel to everyone
We recently completed a hike along the Pekoe Trail and had an incredible experience from start to finish. The scenery was absolutely stunning tea plantations, quiet village paths, and misty hill sections that made the whole trek feel peaceful and immersive.
A extra special mention goes to our guide, Gayash, who truly elevated the experience. He was extremely knowledgeable about the trail, local flora and birds aswell as the history of the tea estates along the way. He paced the hike perfectly, making sure everyone was comfortable while still keeping the journey engaging and insightful. His friendly nature and attention to detail made us feel safe and well taken care of throughout with our mid trail break with some snacks and tea.
Overall, it was a memorable hike that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sri Lanka, especially with Gayash as your guide.
Gayasha took us on the 98 Acres Tea Trail Tour, and his knowledge of both the natural environment and the tea-making process was absolutely captivating. This was, without question, the highlight of our stay in Ella, and days later we still can’t stop talking about it. It’s the kind of experience that leaves a lasting impression and becomes one of the memories you treasure most from a trip.
What made it even more special was Gayasha himself. He was incredibly friendly, engaging, and informative, with a genuine passion for what he does. He also had a very caring nature, and we felt exceptionally well looked after from start to finish. We couldn't have asked for a better guide, and we would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Ella.
