Good hotel for a party, bad hotel if you want to sleep
Pros:

The staff were friendly and the bed was confrotable to lie on. Free parking. Beautiful looking building from the outside. The hotel has great potential but needs serious renovation work done to it.

Cons:

The paint was failing off the walls, the room was freezing cold due to the gaps in the door leading to the balcony which was closed off due to renovation work, no bed side lamp. The walls were dirty. The toilets were on the other side of the building, the noise level was crazy, live music down stairs in the bar , my room was directly above it, the walls were literally shaking with the loudness of the music , I was wearing earplugs and still couldn't block out the noise, the room was over priced for what I paid for. There were leaks in the ceiling in the hallway, buckets on the floor to collect the rain water. There were black hairs of the bed, not mine. I didnt stay the night, I checked out before the nights end.

We needed a place to stay close to the venue we were going to and the pub was the best choice
Pros:

Staff were friendly and the location was good. Sadly the rain has damaged a lot of the old building and our veranda was not accessible. I do hope the owners keep the old building up to scratch and take care of the leaking roof and the damage it’s caused. We love staying in the old pubs.

Cons:

There needs to be blackout curtains on the doors or a curtain that goes over the doors to block out the street lighting. Other than that, all was good.

Great Manager, staff, food and entertainment, however accommodation needs repairs.
Pros:

Ben the Manager is a lovely person and very friendly, the staff were great, service was great, food was great, entertainment in the pub was great also. Bed and pillows were comfy.

Cons:

The accommodation is very poor. The building is run down and needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard. Recent rain damaged the ceilings, carpets on one side of the building were wet, 1 of 2 bathrooms closed, no heating.

We paid accordingly to what we received. Staff were friendly.

Cons:

Bright light on balcony was on all night outside the room, only a small lace curtain on window, so no privacy or screen from the light. Toulet floor needs a good scrub.

Had a great stay but im not a fan of the cold
Pros:

Ben the manager was an absolute champion 🏆 🥇 the pub was everything a country pub should be great entertainment well priced drinks & food, comfortable beds

Cons:

The rooms/up stairs need an up grade, aircon / heating & a lick of paint. an electric blanket wouldn't hurt almost bought one for the second nights stay, the 3am bolt to the shared toilet down the hall was an adventure, id stay there again but i would definitely bring a heater next time around

Pros:

Close to everything you need to do shopping without taking the car. Plenty of parking on site. Upgraded to an apartment without asking. Ben and his staff were great to deal with

The apartment could do with a microwave oven instead of using the main oven

Criterion Hotel review from a runner's perspective
Pros:

The Criterion is centrally located to downtown Warwick and is a beautiful old building.. You can get a good meal in the pub and of course a beer or wine etc.The staff are friendly and helpful. There is no issue with parking either.

Cons:

As my primary requirement was to get a good nights sleep, the Criterion is not a logical choice. It is a pub with good patronage and loud music, loud drunk people and loud music is played until 0130hrs. The rooms are also not well shielded from the hallway lighting, which results in an occasionally lighted room.

Will definitely not be back.
Pros:

The bed was comfortable .

Cons:

Noise of the bar. Noise of guests in adjoining rooms. Room did not have access to veranda. Light in the passage that constantly turned on with other guests movements. Not a pleasant experience.

not for family with young kids or people who are noise sensitive while sleeping.
Pros:

above the pub/hotel

Cons:

had to be separated from my family (2 adults + 2 kids), no toilets or bathroom connected to the rooms, toilets/showers shared with other people, noisy for kids, rooms weren’t clean - mould of ceilings, only 1 electrical plug
