Too noisy, not restful
Pros:

Despite return visits and liking it previously, the local noise is just unbearable now. Bars have pumping music and fights on a Wednesday weekday evening past midnight. It’s got out of control and would stop me visiting again. It’s a shame because everything else is near perfect, the rooms and staff are exceptional.

Wonderful start to our vacation!

We stayed at the White Star Tavern for three nights before our cruise and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The location was perfect—within walking distance of Southampton's shops, restaurants, and the historic waterfront, making it an ideal base for exploring the city.

Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with thoughtful amenities and an exceptionally comfortable bed. Although the hotel is in a lively area, we found the room to be quiet and slept very well.

The staff were outstanding throughout our stay. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and happy to offer recommendations and assistance whenever we needed it. Their friendly service really made us feel at home.

We also enjoyed meals at the tavern. The food was excellent, with a good variety of choices, and breakfast was a great way to start each day. The morning banter with Jack was great.

Overall, the White Star Tavern exceeded our expectations. It combines the charm of a historic inn with modern comfort and exceptional hospitality. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Southampton, whether for sightseeing or before embarking on a cruise.

Perfect British Hotel and tavern to experience local ambiance. Bridget has a fantastic staff.

Immer wieder gerne
Pros:

Tolles Hotel in der Nähe des Zentrums. Ausstattung war ebenfalls sehr gut und besonders die Freundlichkeit des Personals möchten wir erwähnen.

Cons:

Leider keinen Aufzug, wussten wir im Vorfeld, jedoch wenn man im dritten Stock wohnt schon ansprechend

Nice pub
Pros:

Hotel side of the pub, three floors of stairs, I would suggest taking you overnight stuff to your room and leave any other luggage in the secure storage on the ground floor. Staff will also help with luggage.

We had a really nice stay, great meals, and friendly staff!
Pros:

The staff were so friendly and helpful. They were able to store our bigger bags so we didn’t have to carry them up the stairs. The room was stocked with cold drinks for us.

Cons:

It was too hot, and the windows can’t be opened for ventilation.

Historic pub with great staff!
Pros:

Found on are travels around southampton before joining a cruise. Location is perfect as only a 10 minute walk from the hotel we were staying in.

Lots of history and good value for money. Would defiantly visit again!
