The spa was on a different floor from the pool
We had a wonderful week long stay at the Four Seasons. It is a perfect place to base yourself and then explore with day trips to other areas. The concierge was very very helpful prior to the trip! They organized lots of tours and activities for us and everything was amazing. The hotel is beautiful, well located but out of the busiest areas. We stayed in a one bedroom residence room and it was great for a family and came with lots of extras(mini bar, ironing, transfers). The room overlooked the pond which is the centerpiece of the hotel. Just gorgeous and calming!! Breakfast was amazing. I'd book this hotel again and again. The hotel is full of Americans and tour groups but even with that it felt like our home away from home in Japan.
We stayed there for 3 nights in 2 rooms, we had a large suite and a regular room.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The property and grounds are scenic and pretty.
The staff is attentive, no complaints.
My kids loved feeding the koi and ducks.
We used the pool 2x, it was nice.
It’s a far drive to the bamboo forest and monkey park.
The geisha district is about 10 minutes by car depending on traffic.
The breakfast was good. Try to get a table outside.
We would stay here again.
Four Seasons Kyoto is easily one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The service is exceptional and the location is ideal. The staff was attentive and accommodating to our whole family, and especially kind to our children.
The grounds are immaculate and the ambiance is simply relaxing. Our children loved feeding the koi and ducks in the pond and wandering through the garden, and we all enjoyed the maiko performance the hotel hosts twice a week.
The hotel also offers a range of experiences I highly recommend. We booked two private guided tours: a full day in Kyoto and another in Osaka (our driver and guide kindly adjusted the second day to include Nara, knowing our children would love seeing the deer). Both tours were incredible and were the highlight of our trip. Our driver and guide were truly amazing, and they made the experience unforgettable for our family.
We also booked a kimono dressing and photography session, and the studio that partners with the hotel is outstanding. We were even able to use the hotel's beautiful pond and garden for the shoot. Throughout our stay, communication with the staff was top-notch. They reached out proactively to make sure every activity was perfectly planned and every request was met.
Our stay at the Four Seasons Kyoto was one of the most memorable parts of our entire trip to Japan, and we cannot wait to return!
Our stay at this hotel was absolutely extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.
The entire experience felt like a dream and was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was stunning, and every detail was thoughtfully designed. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional.
A special thank you to the General Manager and the Resort Management team and director of room for making this unforgettable experience possible. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Jamie Lam for his outstanding effort, warm welcome, and seamless check-in experience. His professionalism and kindness made us feel special from the very first moment.
Thank you for creating such unforgettable memories. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.
Just spent one week at the Four Seasons Kyoto. The hotel is beautiful with gorgeous gardens and a koi pond on premises. Service was perfect. Greetings from every employee and eager to help with issues or questions.
Breakfast was delicious. And happy to meet the manager Fanny. P.S. Great breakfast
