The room was very nice, spacious, and clean.
The staff were very helpful and polite.
Some things like the swimming pool area could do with some up keep.
The room was clean and spacious, the bunk beds ideal for our kids. Friendly staff. Decent pool. We would visit again.
They seemed to be a bit understaffed.
Great value for money. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the complimentary tea, coffee & biscuits in the room and appreciated the toiletries in the bathroom.
Facilities were great and we enjoyed a swim, sauna and jacuzzi in the morning. Buffet breakfast was delicious and even included a menu with items which could be made to order. Overall really enjoyable stay, will be back
Nothing
Great
Staff were lovely and location was great 5 mins from shops, petrol station and beach
Pool very very run down, had a 3 year old with me & most the tiles were hanging off, one I had to put on the side as it was actually hanging off the steps where my little one was climbing into the pool, so extremely sharp & the windows were filthy, needed a good clean including the pool. Also meal time, my brother in laws meal was just totally forgotten about, they brought our food out and not his and then said sorry it’s going to take long to cook the chef forgot about it, so he didn’t eat.
Pauline & I, found out room spacious and very comfortable. It had large double aspect windows, so it was very bright. The bed was large and comfortable.
There was only one down side and that was the many seagull nest on the adjacent flat roof. This did cause gull noise throughout the night! We only had the one night, but anyone staying longer, could find the gull noise even more of an issue. Especially when the young are born!
We would like to praise Will, who was excellent in the restaurant and bar. He gave a first class service.
The hotel outside area could do with a spruce up, but it didn't spoil our overnight stay.
Big room and toilet
Breakfast options were limited
Furniture are very old so not seem super clean but linens are clean.
Where it was located and ti far from beach or town. View from room was lovely and we thought the rooms and interior was to the in keeping of the building.
The pool, spa and sauna was nice but we feel it needs an upgrade.
Kipper for breakfast was excellent.Fillet of pork ordered for dinner, never had a fillet of pork with fat on one edge I am sure it was a pork chop. After 40 years as a chef and easy spot.
teeny tiny amount of shower gel/shampoo. shower a bit pathetic. otherwise fine.
Nice building
Bit dated
Its character, amazing staff and great facilities.
Nothing
Staff were very nice
Full of character
It's a hotel with a touch of elegance. If you want the usual plastic soulless hotel chains, don't come here. Yes, in parts it could do with a tiny bit of a facelift, but overall it was reminiscent of the elegance of yesteryear.
The facilities were good. Some of the features of a more expensive hotel like room service and lunches they didn't offer, but as we never bother with those anyway it made no difference.
The grounds are extensive and beautifully kept with ample free parking. The food was excellent and at reasonable prices. There was a good selection for the evening meal from steaks to burgers, from lamb to fish. The breakfast was super - the usual continental breakfast (cereals, bread, croissants, fruit, yoghurt etc) as well as z full English (bacon, eggs, sausage, hash browns, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes etc) but in addition you could order a la carte items like smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, porridge, kippers etc at no extra charge.
Our room was large and spotlessly clean, with a super king-size bed, and a bath/shower. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits are provided in the room.
The staff were very professional and friendly. A special mention should be made of Will the bar manager who looked after us at breakfast and dinner. He was a consummate professional yet very friendly and of good humour. Single handedly hd madd our three night stay even better.
The leisure centre was great. It's attached to the hotel accessed through the lounge and completely free for guests. The pool was a good size, the jacuzzi was perfect for relaxing, holding about four or five people (or more if you're friendly!) and the sauna held about four people comfortably. It was set around 75°C so not too hot. The sauna is non nude, (German guests please note,) so suitable for family use. The gym, though small, was relatively well equipped. Fresh towels were provided fir the leisure complex, a nice touch.
Nothing.
The hotel position, breakfast, staff helpfulness, pool, comfortable bed, quiet.
Swimming facilities need updating, they were looking very tired. As was the hotel decor generally. Our curtains were torn and half hanging off the rail for example. Also the hot water was scalding hot.
Comfortable room, friendly staff, good breakfast.
A long walk from main car park, although we were able to park at the top twice.
