Extremely noisy. We could hear everything in the bathrooms adjoining our room. In the morning a group of tourists waited outside our window and woke us up. There was a diesel luggage buggy which also parked outside leaving the engine running which omitted fumes into our window and was so so loud.
Spacious rooms. Relaxed environment. Friendly staff.
If having heavy baggage, upper floor rooms not recommended. In summer, fan should be provided at no additional cost.
Lovely old building with fab gardens
Nice grounds, spacious room, quiet.
Lovely building and gardens, very nice swimming pool and jacuzzi, also has a gym. Staff are very nice and helpful. Not too far from town, only 15 minutes to the beach.
Some very minor random things are a bit shabby and need renewal.
I loved the pool and jacuzzi it's not close to the town. I will say there is not enough plugs we needed a fan so if I wanted a cup of tea I had ti put the kettle on the floor as there was only 2 plugs.
Breakfast was ok we asked for cheese on it and was told no so that was a bit random when it's on the breakfast menu ! Overall lovely place great reception staff would stay again.
Parking was great always a space available. Be aware you can't take any take-aways to your room as you get charged 10 GBP that's silly we thought.
The grounds are absolutely stunning and well maintained.
Not enough plugs in the room
Little far from town
Not very flexible at breakfast
Freindly staff
Room was very hot no fans
Location is fantastic and staff friendly. The gardens are lovely and the variety for breakfast is good.
For the money, it’s dated and the bed were uncomfortable.
This hotel could be amazing if they modernised it.
Good location. Gym facilities and pool. Breakfast included in price. Clean. Comfortable bed. Gluten free options at breakfast. Fans were available to borrow (deposit given) to cool warm room.
Furniture and fittings a little dated. Shower was fiddly to use/get to right temperature. Ordered gluten free breakfast took an overly long time (45minutes) to arrive (poached eggs, smoked salmon and gluten free toast), watched four other tables arrive after us, order food (similar orders) and receive their breakfast before ours arrived.
Beautiful location
The duvet
Grounds and outlook
The hotel decoration is a bit tired
Good menu for breakfast. Room nice size but dated. nice pool and gym
Lovely setting in beautiful grounds. Nice pool area, room very comfortable and staff friendly and attentive. Breakfast excellent
Nothing.
The leisure facilities were good and the lounge areas were handy . The staff were very friendly and helpful
The room was a little small and very dated . The breakfast was ok . We didn’t eat dinner there as it was a bit pricey
Lovely welcoming hotel. Great for walking SWC path. Excellent staff, very relaxing surrounds, great food.
All good, we were able to get a fan from the lovely reception staff.
A very elegant building with an interesting history. There is a wonderful view from the terrace. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We liked the feeling of being in a traditional hotel with all the values that entails. We stayed in one of the cheaper rooms, but it certainly did not feel like it.
Breakfast in the dining room was excellent. It was a buffet style breakfast, but way better than any other buffet breakfasts we have tried. Any extra items not on the buffet were cooked to order.
Will definitely come again.
We couldn't find fault with anything.
The staff were lovely - there was a new girl working there, i think she had only been there a couple of weeks. She is a real asset; easy to talk to and obviously very hard working
