Catalonia Magdalenes

We were only at this hotel for 1 night after our cruise ended in Barcelona. We thought the location was great. Close to restaurants and walking distance to some of Barcelona’s main attractions like the gothic quarter. We took the metro from the hotel to Basilica of the Sagrada Família and then walked back to the hotel (about a 40 minute walk). The hotel staff was great at giving directions to attractions.
We were a group of 6 so we booked 2 rooms. One for a couple and one for a family of 4. The photos below are of the family room. Both rooms were clean and spacious and very stylish. In fact the entire design of the hotel is stylish and modern. We really liked it. There is a small outdoor pool and lounge chairs on the top floor of the hotel. We did not have time to use it but it looked great and relaxing. I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel Catalonia Magdalenes is amazing. We stayed at 3 hotels during our time in Spain and this one was above and beyond all others. The staff was incredibly helpful and always able to answer questions.

The location is perfect to navigate to all different parts of the city. Buses and subways are blocks away and walking is super easy from this location.

The room was the same size as a north american hotel room, which was a pleasant surprise for us! The room had everything we needed. We will certainly be looking for other Hotel Catalonia locations for our future travels.

An absolute gem of a hotel. Location, staff, service, ambience, value for money.

We arrived after tagging a couple of days onto a cruise. Upon arrival there was a small issue with our reservation via our third party booking platform (booking.com). The staff could not have been more accommodating. Assured us everything would get sorted, to sit and have a (complementary) coffee and they will resolve.

Sure enough, with enough time to finish our coffee, all sorted and our adventure in Barcelona began!

From start to finish nothing has been too much bother for anyone here. Lovely having the roof top terrace to enjoy after a hard day sight seeing and the team there, again, working non stop to help.

Rooms clean, refreshed daily.

This hotel is everything and more you could wish for from a city break. I would not hesitate to book here again, or recommend.

We have tried various hotels in Barcelona but this was by far our best experience. The hotel is cosy with a nice rooftop pool and seating area with a bar. The rooms are spacious and modern. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff were amazing. A special shout out to Simo in particular. It’s ideally placed near Las Ramblas. When we come back to Barcelona we will stay here again.

The room was very clean. They cleaned it daily and changed towels. The location is superb; very close to all main attractions with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars nearby. The staff was super friendly and helpful as well

The property is well located near restaurants and shops. The building is very modern and clean with helpful, friendly staff. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning!

We recently stayed here in late April as a couple and loved the Hotel so much we brought our 3 youngest children here this week for a few nights. Simon, Perie & Alo...Thank you for your hospitality you always went above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as it was... nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to assist. Every part of the breakfast was delicious the omelette to order went down a storm with our lot. We would go back just for this. The rooms were spacious modern and bright. The rooms were quiet and we had the best sleep after a long hot day exploring the local area. The hotel is so close to everything we could walk to most attractions and El born where we ate the most delicious restaurants.
We decided on the last day to enjoy the hotel pools and its incredible spa & gym facilities which we never do. None of us wanting to leave. We highly recommended this hotel and its wonderful staff.

The balcony was incredible. Very large. Hospitality was excellent.
