Fantastic Stay - Second time a charm
Pros:

Our choice on hotel again after returning to Johannesburg. Located next to Monte Casino complex which has tons of restaurants, shops, a cinema, a bird park, bowling, games room for kids and a theater. The hotel has separate entrance making walking super easy and convenient. The hotel is well maintained and comfortable. Staff was exceptional through our entire stay. Always friendly and willing to help. The rooms were comfy and had all the amenities. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of options.

Prachtig hotel met excellente service in Montecasino met vele restaurants op wandelafstand.
Pros:

Mooie en rustige kamer, uitgebreid en lekker ontbijt, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.
Wij hadden een zeer vroege check out en kregen uitgebreid ontbijtpakket mee. Zeer geapprecieerd!!

It was an excellent experience. We would happily stay here again.

Our stay at the Palazzo at Montecasino was exceptional. The hotel is beautifully maintained, the rooms are luxurious and comfortable, and the staff were warm, professional and attentive throughout our stay. The breakfast was outstanding with a great variety of fresh, high-quality food, and the location with direct access to Montecasino made everything incredibly convenient.

Cons:

There was very little to fault during our stay.
The only issue was with our late checkout. We had requested it in advance, and it was arranged and confirmed the night before. However, after returning from shopping, we found that our room key had been deactivated and we were locked out of the room. Better communication between staff regarding confirmed late checkouts would help avoid this. Despite this, the staff remained friendly and helpful throughout.

Palazzo Problems...
Pros:

Location and staff

Cons:

First hotel room (501) had leak from the bathroom and the bathroom didn't smell clean. The shower had very distinct urine smell. We then informed staff and moved to room 267 which were more noisy and the shower also had urine smell. The fact that none of the 2 rooms had a Smart TV meant that we couldn't get to watch sports (Wimbledon, Rugby, Soccer) which was disappointing.

Friendly helpfully staff

Cons:

Pillows were not firm.
Mattress was terrible.
And it needs to be pushed up against the headboard or else pillows fall inbetween the mattress and headboard.


Carpets or something needs to be changed in the hallway walking towards rooms as there is this stuffy odour .
