Great little boutique hotel adjacent to the cruise port
Pros:

Great location for me, as I was joining a while the following morning.
The staff were friendly and welcoming - great views, fun vibe and lovely, well-appointed room. The breakfast spread was very impressive and the welcome drink was a nice touch.

Cons:

Only that I couldn’t stay longer to enjoy the facilities!

Todos muito simpáticos, um bom pequeno almoço!
Tem uma vista linda do funchal!

Cons:

Nas casas de banho há pequenos detalhes que devem ser compostos com urgência tipo lavatórios estúpidos e duches onde carecem de peças novas!

De kamers, hygiene was oke kwa schoonmaak maar bedlakens hadden zelfs bloedvlekken na schoonmaak, er zaten vlekken op de gordijnen.

Pros:

Funcionários extremamente prestáveis e simpáticos. Pequeno-almoço excelente, com muita variedade de sumos, pastelaria, padaria, fruta, bolos,... Não faltava nada! E o que faltasse, podíamos pedir ao chef.
Hotel muito bem localizado. Restaurante do hotel bastante bom e em conta. Quartos amplos e camas confortáveis. Piscina muito bonita.

Cons:

O nosso quarto era virado para o jardim onde tem um ginásio, o que o tornava menos privado, uma vez que toda a gente que passasse, via tudo para o quarto. A única hipótese era fechar a cortina que bloqueia a luz, mas tornava o quarto muito escuro.
No geral, o hotel precisava de uma reforma, um refresh, tanto na fachada, quanto na alcatifa do corredor dos quartos e outros pormenores. Mas adorei a estadia. Correu tudo lindamente e voltaria sem dúvida.

Shambolic management
Cons:

We stayed at the Pestana CR7 Funchal in late May and chose it for the brand’s reputation, but our experience was let down badly by poor communication and disorganised management.

On arrival (23 May, around 3pm) we told reception our rental car was parked below the hotel and were advised of the parking charges. At no point were we warned about an upcoming road closure affecting access to the car park. The next morning we found the access routes closed and could not retrieve our vehicle. Staff told us the hotel only became aware the previous evening and put signs up after the day receptionist had left, which is why we weren’t told at check-in. The closure was tied to a recurring annual event, so it’s hard to accept that the hotel and local community had no advance knowledge. We weren’t the only ones affected either — we saw several other guests having the same conversation with staff that morning.

The result: unnecessary parking charges, extra rental car costs because we couldn’t return the vehicle as planned, a lost pre-booked hiking excursion, and the loss of an entire day of our trip. The hotel has declined any compensation, stating signage was displayed, but signs put up after we’d already parked and been given parking advice don’t substitute for being told a known closure was comingThe same day brought a second letdown. In the morning I flagged that there was a football match on later that I wanted to watch, and staff assured me they’d reserve a table and make sure it would be on. When the time came, another group not staying at the hotel had asked to watch a different game and were given priority. Despite the staff and receptionist acknowledging my earlier request and agreeing with it, they couldn’t resolve the situation. It took 15–20 minutes before they eventually moved us inside to watch on another TV.

Two avoidable failures in a single day, both down to staff not following through on what they’d told us.

Great staff, Great location
Pros:

The staff was accommodating, the parking close to the hotel (though you must pay) and it is in a great location. An added bonus - they had a boxed breakfast prepared for us in the morning as they knew our check-out time was before breakfast. We were very grateful!
