Bar was good views even better
Room was dirty
Wonderful view of coast from our room - great start to a coast-to-coast walk. Great breakfast.
Fantastic location and we were lucky enough to gave a sea view room.
Poor choice of cider in the bar.
Food great.
Need more staff on at busy timed
De ligging aan zee. Kamer met uitzicht op de zee. De wandelingen die je kan doen. Het lekkere ontbijt. Geweldig koffietentje aan het strand. Eigenlijk alles! Fietsen staan er veilig.
Niks
First time I had been back since refurbishments and the changes were noticable and for the better. Excellent breakfast and location (over the summer) with access to splendid beach
Having to book a certain time in restaurant/bar area for evening meal. It felt like I was reserving a table at The Ritz !
Läget, den fina trädgården utanför baren
We've stayed several times for 1 or 2 nights just get away. Will stay again
The Staff are so friendly and helpful. Lovely food and beautiful beach nearby.
A little bit out of the way for other amenities e.g shops etc.
Location and friendly welcoming staff.
Is dated and in need of repairs. However, this is reflected in the price.
For an older style building it was very comfortable
Probably could be updated
Great place and staff
The location of the property is ideal. A front of hotel room has a view of St Bees head, and the park. It is close to Whitehaven if looking for somewhere to eat.
My stay here was incredibly disappointing, and I cannot recommend this hotel. The rooms are severely overpriced for what you get. The beds are highly uncomfortable, with cheap, unsupportive mattresses that make it feel like you're sleeping directly on the bed base.
While the rooms are advertised as "refurbished," they feel entirely dated. My bathroom door had holes in it, and the shower caddy was heavily rusted—far below what you'd expect for £125 a night.
The breakfast was equally frustrating. There were no hash browns, and guests are expected to make their own toast using a machine that takes nearly six minutes. Combined with a view of the council car park, with noisy locals, no air conditioning in a hot Cumbrian summer, and budget feel environment, the experience simply doesn't justify the price tag. You can find much better, premium options elsewhere for this rate.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was nice.
The reception area look tired.
Friendly staff. Room was huge and spotless and comfy . Food was really good
