Schade!
Pros:

Die Lage war sehr gut und das Personal freundlich.

Cons:

Das Zimmer war heiß und das Fenster mit einem Schloss verriegelt. Klimaanlage gab es keine. Die Unsitte, das Öffnen von Fenstern im Hotel zu verhindern, hat auch in diesem Hotel zugeschlagen. Das hat uns leider den Aufenthalt verdorben.

Dimensioni camera buone e letti abbastanza comodi.

Cons:

Bagno della camera familiare indecente: vasca con tendina, con macchie nere di muffa, odore cattivo.
Moquette piena di macchie, tavolino appiccicoso.
Colazione basica, di qualità standard.
Da un quattro stelle ci si aspetta maggiore pulizia e cura

L’impression d’avoir été abusé, sans respect de surcroît

Le welcome drink promis à l’accueil m’a coûté 23€ pour 2 apéritifs sans alcool au lieu de la gratuité annoncée. Motif avancé par le barman : cette gratuité ne valait que pour certains apéritifs, ce qui ne m’avait pas été précisé à l’accueil. Mais le barman n’en avait cure.

Could have been better
Pros:

Good location in centre of town

Cons:

Very noisy early morning with trucks and other delivery and refuse traffic
Also on car parking support, had to use local car park and no discount from hotel

It was an absolute pleasure staying at the kilkenny Hibernian Hotel the staff were so friendly and the service was fantastic i would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family

Central location. Ember restuarant excellent

Cons:

No AC in rooms. Had 2 fans running trying to cool down but the room was like an oven. No newspapers available in reception. When i asked where i could get some the receptionist didn't know. No parking available, only public. Found out from the carpark attendant that there was a weekend rate. Hotel should know these things and i would think subsidise car park fees

Won't be going back
Pros:

Accommodation was definitely not 4 star. Room was old and tired. Bathroom was shocking. It would be more like max a 2 star
One of the bar staff was rude & dismissive.
Hotel no longer has parking deal with Ormonde car park
So overall very disappointing and will not be going back especially since it is an expensive hotel

Pros:

The staff were attentive, helpful, and courteous. The location is terrific right in the middle of the Medieval Mile within walking distance of many attractions. The restaurant Ember was terrific. The bar had great traditional Irish music to enjoy in the evenings. The historic building was charming.

Cons:

Unfortunately, we came during a six week drought in Ireland and the temperature was very hot. The lack of air conditioning made our stay a little less pleasant than we preferred.
