Location and access
Great central location, spotlessly clean , comfortable bed
Mainly the location
Superb location, and a short walk from the Royal Mile. I stayed here with my mom, and we enjoyed relaxing and having a drink on the sofas outside terrace at the front of the hotel. The men working behind the bar were extremely friendly and helpful with local recomendations. I would 100% recommend this hotel to any of my friends that were planning a trip to Edinburgh.
The staff are superb, the rooms are comfortable, the hotel has such a chill vibe,and there's a great variety of options for breakfast
Also very close to everything, particularly a gorgeous bookshop
The bathrooms in the rooms - frosted doors, gaps in the frame etc. - make things a bit awkward privacy-wise 😅

We liked the very good and highly professional team. The terrace and Bar and its service. The location.
The view out of our room was disappointing.
The location is fantastic, near Calton hill, and a 10 minute walk from the Edinburgh Waverly train station. The check-in lady was alone and we had to wait for 5 minutes to check-in. And when she was checking us in, she took 15 minutes and made others wait which I was feeling bad about. We were given a decent clean spacious room. The bed mattress was not that great though and I didn't get very good sleep. The breakfast buffet was decent with many items prepared hot and fresh. The bakery items were not that fresh though. The staff is helpful. The downside is LIFT. The lifts are very slow. We didn't get any special benefits being in the Marriott top tier so make a note of that.
Atmosphere is OK. The outside bar and coffee shop is decent though the waiting service is quite slow. Noise levels were OK.
The Kahani Indian restaurant opposite to this hotel is good. The bars and coffee shops near this, are quite good.
First time here was a gift from daughter we were looked after by the lovely
Prenija she made sure everything was ok checking on us all the time
Would recommend it the food was very good only one thing roast potatoes could have been cooked more a bit hard 😋
Location is great. Breakfast is decent, staffs are friendly and room size is decent as well.
For duration of one night, I cannot find anything to dislike.

The bathroom wall and door is glass panel with a gap between door and wall. This is not good at all for sharing a room with someone. You don’t feel that you have any privacy to use the loo.
