Very quiet hotel with many facilities and great restaurant and bar service.
Pros:

Quiet hotel in a great location. Breakfast had many options. The hotel bar was well outfitted.

Cons:

The system was down when we arrived and management was acting frenzied. We had requested early check in, which they said they couldn't accommodate due to the system outage, which is fine, but they also mentioned that they gave others early check in for vague, strange reasons when pressed. Management did not ask our name when calling later in the day to ask for an update on early check-in, but claimed we had not put in a request early enough, which we contradicted because we put it in 3 months prior when booking. Overall, management needs to learn to be calm and clear in crisis. It's obvious we weren't important enough to prioritize and was interesting they made claims about our room status and stay requests without requesting our name.

Good location in Edinburgh
Pros:

Spacious room with a big bed. Nice breakfast buffet with efficient service. Hotel is well located to exploring the city.

Cons:

Coffee machine wasn't working and nothing was done about that. Some more follow up would have been helpful.

Pros:

The hotel is very nice and located very close to most of the tourist sites. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk away from most places and close to plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. They also have their own restaurant which serves great food.

Cons:

My room (and one other) was oddly located at the end of the hall, after a fire escape door. It created an air vacuum and so every time someone opened the fire door, the door to my room and the room across from me would shake. It felt like someone was trying to enter the room. It was quite disturbing, especially when I was trying to sleep. Also, it would be great if the hotel restaurant served dinner until a bit later in the evening.

Dirty beds and rooms, not a 4-star hotel
Pros:

Location is nice, parking is near the hotel

Cons:

When we entered the room, the bed was dirty. The pillows were dirty, with traces of lipstick and someone else's hair, and the sheet itself was stained. We asked for the bedding to be replaced. As it turned out, the replacement duvet and sheet had holes in them.

The carpet was also completely dirty and dusty. I wouldn't call this a 4-star hotel.

Also, the pillows are very uncomfortable

Perfekt für einen Städetrip - gerne wieder
Pros:

Besonders gefallen hat uns die Lage. Nur 5 Minuten Gehweg und man war bereits beim Bahnhof Waverley. Auch das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Beim Check In bekam man Tipps für Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants. Auch das ausdrucken unserer Boarding Pässe ging ohne Probleme. Beim Frühstück gab es neben einem typischen englischen Frühstück auch Schinken, Käse, Müsli, helles und dunkles Brot (für englische Verhältnisse dunkel). Auch das Personal beim Frühstück ist sehr freundlich und man kann auch Gerichte von der Karte bestellen. Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich und der Kühlschrank war für uns sehr von Vorteil. Das Bad war für englische Verhältnisse sehr geräumig und man hatte ohne Probleme zu zweit Platz. Das Zimmer war auch sehr ruhig und man konnte die anderen Zimmer oder die Straße nicht hören, das hatten wir in anderen Hotels schon ganz anders.

Cons:

Das einzige was ich "negativ" bewerten würde ist die Badezimmertür, da diese sehr hellhörig ist. Ansonsten war alles wunderbar. Auch das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis könnte man kritischer sehen, allerdings merken wir selbst, dass Schottland in den letzten Jahren immer teurer wurde bzw. wird. Aber die Lage ist fantastisch für einen Städtetrip
