Nicely appointed hotel in a 12th-century building in the center of Stow-on-the-Wold. Great location for walkable shopping and dining, including the in-house restaurant. Friendly staff. One of the parking areas has 2 (separately paid) EV chargers.
The lack of a/c or in-room refrigerator loomed large during the late-June heat dome. The in-room fan would have been fine for normal summer weather, but just couldn't keep up in this case. Although there is a hall refrigerator for cold water and milk, the staff had a hard time keeping it stocked when demand spiked because of the heat.
The room, the welcome, the restaurant
Beautiful boutique accommodation in a very pretty little Cotswold village. Very welcoming, very comfortable, would definitely return .
Convenient location and gentlemen who checked us in was polite and helpful
The first younger girl we spoke to at the hotel (think she may have been a waitress) seemed aloof and not very bothered about being helpful.
This was a haven!!
The decor.
Location and character
Food could have better choices
very poor staff not not very good and would never stop in this hotel again

Atmospheric
Our bedroom was far too small. It was advertised as a double room but in reality it was a single room
Very tired, needs refurbishing,
Facilities, and staff
Location and parking excellent
Nothing really the young lad didn’t give us the most welcoming talk when we areived but then manager is spot on
Location
Room was a bit small
Overall the staff were very friendly. The food was unfortunately below our expectations and I believe overpriced. The rooms were pretty expensive considering breakfast was not included.
The food was below expectation. We experienced the evening dinner menu and breakfast. Definitely not value for money unfortunately.
We really liked the room, as we had gotten the attic type of room (do not know how to describe it, but it was awesome), the bathrooms were clean and cozy, the meals which we had there were delicious. It was the best.
Just one thing, my friend's room had two sinks in the room and the toilet was separate from the bath. That is all.
Gary and his staff were always kind and courteous. We were so very pleased that when we arrived early, around 9:30 AM, hoping that they might hold our bags, Gary was so kind to tell us that our room was ready. WHAT A TREAT! Thanks again Gary! The food was wonderful. Such a great location. Gary was also able to print out some walks for us which were soooo beautiful! In the evening we were allowed to play a game we brought in the dining room. Would definitely stay here again.
