We thought that the price of drinks in the restricted were ridiculous.
Spacious clean room
Far too many emails before arrival! (I was staying one night for business, so 9 emails before I’d even arrived was unnecessary!)
No milk in the room, and nowhere to keep it cold when you are given a little jug of milk by reception! By the morning, it was warm and unusable, and reception didn’t open until 8am, so no early morning cup of tea for me!
The Yarrow is an impressive property with convenient parking and facilities like a spa for residents unlike myself! Meals were freshly cooked and a buffet breakfast was also available. It is set in a quiet location but less than a mile away from the centre of Broadstairs.
The evening menu only had prices for two courses rather than each item individually. It nudged diners to avoid having just a main course. It also meant having to pay more if they wanted potatoes or extra veg! My room had large curtains but the 8 panes right at the top were out of range so in June darkness was late in arriving. I used the shower over the bath but would prefer a handheld attachment so that it wasn't just the top of my head getting wet. The toilet flush was needlessly inefficient!
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The bed wasn’t made up into a twin - had to call staff to do that.
No milk in rooms in a hotel that cost £140 per night was surprising. Had to ring to reception when we wanted some.
New TV not tuned in - we had to call hotel staff to do it. Even then no ITV channels. Disappointing as the World Cup was on.
