Well-appointed with pleasant and helpful staff.
Pros:

Property in very good condition. Staff were helpful and pleasant- especially at breakfast. Room was a good size and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Quiet nights.

Cons:

Grounds needed attention. Parking bays too narrow in main car park - my medium-sized SUV touched the lines on both sides at once; would have been a problem in a full car park.

Enjoyable stay but traffic noise a problem
Pros:

All the staff are excellent, very helpful & friendly
We have stayed here many times when attending appointments at the nearby hospital, very convenient.

Cons:

We requested a lower floor room, as the last time we stayed in a high floor with lots of stairs. Alison contacted me via email to acknowledge my request, however the room was in a good position but unfortunately facing the main road which was very busy & noisy

Rutland Hotel - Good location to the west of Sheffield's city Centre
Pros:

Good spacious room (Suite) with a huge bed, good shower and a fancy-pants bath tub.
Easy to air safely on warmer days.
Nice gardens, viewable from the breakfast room.
Location very good for Botanic gardens and used a good bus service up to The Red Lion and nearby restaurants in Fulwood.

Cons:

Breakfast was rather basic in its execution (quantity not quality) and really offered no appealing options for a vegan.
Car park spaces are far too tight (I parked an Audi TT in the lower car park) for the daily charge this hotel levies.

Staff could have been more attentive, after the Hotel came highly recommended.
Pros:

As a diabetic, that I had sachets of Decaf coffee for when I arrived, that just normal. Bed acceptable and room tidy and compact. for my minimal needs.

Cons:

There was a problem with the door handle, not fixed at time of departure. Said I needed the EV Charger for an overnight charge and was told it would be available. When I returned from a family event found it unavailable, as outside guest took the space, that was not used for charging. Said it would be available from 22:30pm, to which it was not.
No breakfast, as I had to return home for planned medical attention. ie Diabetic injection using insulin. Needing to charge car, costing me invaluable time.
Shower took too long to go from cold to warm/hot.

Pros:

Friendly staff.

Cons:

Terribly outdated. So many signs of being run down. On all elements they could change like sheets towels were fine but the rooms windows shower light switches were all shabby and hanging on.

We enjoyed our stay in this friendly and welcoming hotel.
Pros:

The executive room was spacious and cool on a very hot day. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was excellent. The location is excellent it is a short walk from the botanical gardens, shops and restaurants and the University.

Crap but cheap
Pros:

This is a really cheap hotel, but you get what you pay for.

Cons:

It was absolutely roasting in the heat wave. The rooms have no AC. The toilet bins were full. The “continental” breakfast was absolutely minimal.
