Best value for money in Vancouver downtown
Pros:

Last time stayed here in 2020 and hotel has improved a lot since then with full rénovation conducted. Everything was brand new, bed very comfy, staff super nice.
The area is excellent and close to everything on foot.
Last moment booked - the best price for a fifa match night in downtown

懐かしいバンクーバー。でも、もう訪れることは無いと思う。
Pros:

私の目的地から距離、広い室内、事前のリクエストや問い合わせへの対応の精度やスピード。35年前のワーホリ時代に住んだフラットから徒歩2分。懐かしかった。

Cons:

エレベーターがないのは辛い。低層とはいえ、バックパッカーでもない限り、スーツケースの上げ下げに苦労する。館内を大掛かりな工事中で完成後にエレベーターは着くかどうかわからないとフロントのスタッフに言われた。しかし、工事が完了してエレベーターがついたら、高額なバンクーバーのホテルの中でロケーションを考慮するとリーズナブルと言える現在の料金はリノベーションによって便利で綺麗になる分高くなってしまうこと必至。

un passage court mais très agréable et confortable
Pros:

l’acceuil était chaleureux à 2h30 du matin. La chambre était en fait immense avec 2 grand lits et un salon avec 2 sofas. tout était impeccable. c’est l’emplacement idéal pour visiter Vancouver

The walls are thin. We could hear the people next door, talking. The man on reception came to our room with towels and reminded us we had to pay extra for the third person. If he had checked our booking before telling us, he'd have seen we had paid for 3... It was a little unnecessary and came across as unprofessional.

Still My Favorite Hotel in Vancouver Despite Ongoing Renovations
Pros:

The simple comfort of very clean rooms despite the double hits of ongoing long term major renovations over past 2-3 years and higher pricing due to FIFA games in Vancouver.

Cons:

The temporary lobby requires walking up a narrow full flight of stairs to the floor with rooms. They are moving lobby back to the original entrance but it looks to still have a narrow set of stairs to reach the lobby. Hopefully they have plans to eventually add a small elevator before competing these renovations.

Great Location
Pros:

The Barclay Hotel is an awesome location. They are under construction right now, (June 2026) but the noise was minimal. Staff are awesome. No facilities available at the moment, but renovations are just part of life. We would definitely stay here again.
