It is a wonderful place to observe bird migration. Our reserve has a large group of more than 2709 species of birds that have been recorded around the area.
We also have great cycling routes such as Winchelsea & Rye Harbor Nature Reserve loop and Pett Level Road loop from Winchelsea. On the way you will see historic landmarks and great countryside views. If you don’t have a bike and wanted to try something different. We have our own electric e-bikes which we can hire out to you for a day etc. We also have free onside bike storage to lock your bicycles up at night securely and CCTV on site with facilities to charge your own E-bike.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Good value for money establishment. I would stay again
Pros:

Clean, well presented, spacious room. Shower room also clean but needs a little tlc re painting and smartening up fixtures and fittings. Thos does not detract though. The food was fine .... tasty, just not all the way for me to rate as outstanding.

Cons:

Nothing really. It's well located for th 1066 walk and clearly has good parking.

Nice place at a fair price with interesting guests. Winchelsea is a delightful place.

Room and location over inner courtyard. Would have liked a clearer view over the countryside from the bathroom window.

Cons:

Breakfast was good, although the fried eggs were like plastic. I ate breakfast late so probably better earlier.

One night at the Lodge
Pros:

Good location. Pretty room with 2 windows so possible to create a draught during the hot weather.

Cons:

Room faced the main road which was very noisy.

The staff very friendly and helpful the tv did keep dropping out which wads bad as Englands name was playing on one of our nights we wer staying. The breakfast was good wi fi was also ok but not perfect lovley location

Heerlijk geslapen en uitgerust weer verder.
Pros:

Wij hadden een mooie ruime kamer op de 1e etage. Het hotel ligt in een mooie omgeving en heeft een echte oude uitstraling. Onze motoren stonden naast het hotel en gezien de locatie gaf ons dat geen onveilig gevoel. Goed maar simpel Engels ontbijt.

De dinerkaart kan wat uitgebreider. Minimale keuze. Eten was wel goed, niets mis mee.
