Staff was excellent but the rooms need some upgrades.

Nice Hampton near the U of Minnesota with easy access and close to some good restaurants 07/13 through 07/15/26
Pros:

This work trip to Minneapolis I decided to try a different place in a different part of town.

It had easy access from the airport and was only 15 to 20 minute drive to our plant in North Minneapolis.

I attached a variety of pictures of my room, common areas, and function spaces.

The only downsides were: the computers in the business center were not cooperative and could get my boarding passes. And the advertised 4:00 to 6 pm happy hour on the roof top patio was a myth ( the one night I got back in time, there was no one there to make a drink or anything.

The front desk guy Jeremy was very helpful including putting up with my asking about my suitcase that American Airlines left in Dallas Forth Worth and sent here on a later flight but finally delivered them at about 10 pm

Overall bad experience not worth the almost 400$ stay, only plus was my dog got to stay with us.
Pros:

I liked that they allowed dogs and 21 age and under, and that they had a pool onsite

Cons:

Or room was not cleaned properly had blood stains on bed and found men’s used underwear in or room. And staff then told us to clean it up instead of offering to do it.

The only good thing about this hotel is the decently clean rooms.
Pros:

It was a clean hotel, but very average. I liked the general area this hotel is in.

Cons:

The parking is awful! You have to pay for each night of parking, and even then there’s no guaranteed spot. They had a backup lot that was a building down if there wasn’t enough spots in the main lot. Which if you get back after the afternoon, you will need to park in the second lot! The inconveniences on top of the fee were so frustrating.

But my main problem was that I pre-booked, and I had a set amount I knew I was supposed to pay! But I got there and the front desk man says a total way higher than what I’m supposed to pay, and wasn’t clarifying why it was so much higher. Part of it ended up being the deposit fee that I thankfully got back, but there were still multiple hidden fees adding up to 50 extra dollars— on top of the room and taxes, and fee’s I already had. The website doesn’t say anything about the nightly deposit of $50 dollars and the front desk man was not being helpful to explain what it was, which confused me. He just told me they charged me an extra $150 dollars.

I also had another unpleasant experience with a different hotel desk employee. He was on his phone with airpod’s in, which I didn’t mind too much, but I asked him a genuine question only for him to say a snarky remark. From my experiences with these front-desk people they were unfriendly and unhelpful.

Overall I don’t think this hotel is worth it. The actual rooms themselves were decent (clean, no bugs), and the price wasn’t terrible, but between the awful parking you have to pay for, the rude staff, and hidden fee’s I would advice anyone to choose a different hotel.

Pros:

Great room and comfortable bed; very nice staff

Cons:

The hot breakfast food quality was poor - not poorly prepared, just low quality ingredients. I would pay a few bucks more for the room to have better food

It was a great experience and I would definitely stay there again.
