Regency Hotel

To be fair leaving a review in this comment the hotel is being refurbished at present so I did have the odd issue with TV had signal issues but that was down to the ongoing works the hotel is currently going through ☺️

The room furniture, cleanliness, no Tea , Coffee , even there was no Kettle to boil water, Toilet seat was broken..

Possibly the worst hotel room we have ever stayed in. I genuinely cannot understand how this room is considered acceptable to sell to paying guests, particularly a family with two small children.

The room was absolutely filthy. The duvet was old and dirty, the duvet cover was stained and ripped, the bath was caked in dirt, the skirting boards were filthy with what appeared to be mould, and there were cut, soiled strips of carpet directly in front of the toilet and beside the bed.

Even more concerning were mirrors/fittings lifting away from the walls with exposed screws sticking out — one actually caught my arm. This went beyond a hotel simply being “tired”; parts of the room felt genuinely unsafe.

The whole place desperately needs cleaning, maintenance and refurbishment. Even the reception area was dirty. Check-in was incredibly difficult as nobody was at reception, and staff had already been rude and unhelpful when I called beforehand.

The overall condition and atmosphere of the place was so grim that it gave us the impression of the sort of room being rented by the hour rather than somewhere intended for families or ordinary hotel guests. I would honestly not have been comfortable letting a pet sleep in this room, never mind my two young children.

I have photographs documenting the condition. Absolutely appalling standard of accommodation. In my opinion, rooms in this state should not be open to paying guests.

Writing this is Lorraine, Marks wife. Blood stains on the pillow, bedding and walls, dirty room. Drunken or drugged men approaching a single woman (myself) which was frightening. The receptionist who could or would not help me. I left the property almost immediately.

The room itself was underprepared for someone to stay. Only one dirty mug in the room. Had to ask for towels and toilet paper. The soap dispenser was empty.
The toilet seat didn't fit the toilet.
The room was grubby.
