The location was great. The food was good as were the staff
The hotel is very rundown, tired and needing an upgrade.
The cold water was always warm/ very warm and also no water came out of the tap at times
The room price appears to be based on location rather than quality.
The location was superb for our day out at Kew Gardens and the proximity to the tube was excellent so we could go into town for a nice meal. Overall the facility was very clean a good bar and breakfast was very good.
We wre on third floor so lots of stairs to get to the top and no lift. Room was a little dated but for one night stay was more than suffecient for what we needed.
Nice friendly staff very clean
Poor choice for breakfast no cerial or fruit
The hotel was ideally located for our needs & provided a very useful & comfortable base. We had dinner in the dining room which was very good as was the breakfast. We would have no hesitation in returning or recommending.
Nothing particularly springs to mind.
Dicht bij metrostation en Kew Gardens
Location for our trip to Kew Gardens was excellent.
Breakfast wasn’t as good as the year before…difficult to get toast wrong but it was dry/ over-done!
great room with a balcony on the first floor, breakfast and dinner were good value and location was three minutes walk from the underground station - Kew Gardens village shopping area is a lively treed setting with great small shops
Weather was very hot and room only had a fan
It was very clean. Friendly staff. Quite spacious.
I think a small fridge or air con would be good. But it was one of the hottest days of the year so the water provided was warm.
Location to train station was excellent
The room was on the top floor (56 stairs to climb) and I'm over 65 so it was a struggle to get to the room.
Unfortunately, summer heat was a nightmare, hot air rises and the room was like a sauna - using a fan was useless.
There was also no option to have a simple breakfast of cereal - not everyone likes a cooked breakfast.
the staff were very good if they did not know the answer they would find someone who did we are glutenfree so chef spoke to use to let us know what he could do that was glutenfree but could not guarantee 100% if celiac was ok for us we'll looked after
the room need updating and we picked the hottest 4 day this year the cleaning staff were good kept fans going and loads of water could do with small fridge in room
The staff are super. Like the name implies easy walking distance to Kew Garden. Lots of great little stores and restaurants in the area. Breakfast at the hotel tasty as well.
Hotel needs a good coat of paint!
Great location, close to train station
Very tired interior, paintwork all chipped and really needs freshened up. We were in an attic room which was small, air con unit didn’t work as the filter didn’t fit and kept falling off! There was a fan available. The bathroom was tiny, shower head was terrible, sprayed water all over the floor, no sink plug, extractor fan didn’t work and strange smell .
Location in Kew Village and near stating. Good pub restaurant
A lot of stairs to top floor. Room slightly dated.
Great location, the balcony on the room was a bonus. Nice bar.
Decor a little tired
Cozy ambiance
Room on 5th floor— at least the staff cheerfully helped last g my suitcase up and down. But I was so not expecting a high room on w no elevator!
Honestly the property was just too bad to find anything positive I’m afraid
We stayed for one night and were genuinely shocked by the condition of our room. For the price charged (£282) the standard was completely unacceptable.
The room was tired, worn and in desperate need of refurbishment. The carpets were dirty and heavily worn, there was thick dust along the skirting boards, and much of the furniture was damaged or stained. Several items were broken or missing, including a bedside lamp that did not work, a broken window blind, a TV remote with no back cover, and bedside tables that were in a poor condition, with paint and plaster falling off the walls.
Amenities confirmed on our booking, such as bathrobes and a coffee machine were also missing.
Cleanliness was a major issue. After walking around the room in white socks, the soles were black. There was visible mould in the bathroom, and the overall condition of the bathroom made us uncomfortable using the shower.
We raised our concerns immediately with reception, but were told the hotel was fully booked and no alternative room was available. I requested a call from the manager and was assured someone would contact me. No one ever did.
Breakfast was equally disappointing. Contrary to some online reviews, there were no cereals, pastries, fruit or yoghurt available. The only option was a single item from a cooked breakfast menu, accompanied by a jug of pre-made watery coffee and juice left on the bar. It represented very poor value for money.
The one positive aspect of our stay was the member of staff serving breakfast, who was polite, friendly and helpful.
What is concerning since our stay I have read management responses to bad reviews, and they appear to question guests descriptions of the room and hotel conditions.
We showed our photographs to reception, who appeared to accept how bad it was. The current corporate photos online are not a true reflection of what you get.
Breakfast only ok. Location of hotel excellent
Generally shabby
