The spa, the staff were really good and friendly
The bed was uncomfortable the bathroom smelt off mould the WiFi was very slow the plug sockets unexpectedly turned off in the morning for a couple hours and the balcony was uncleaned with dead bugs, cob webs and cigarettes ash all over the window sill and the floor
Spa was amazing
Lumpy bed and hard pillows, no GF options for breakfast
Rooms in the old part are dated and not maintained. This hotel ignores all reviews. There has been things mentioned in previous reviews about stains on carpets and grout missing on floor tiles and nothing has been done about it. Very disappointing. Also they have a resident cat not great if you are allergic.
Beautiful setting lovely facilities
Good value for money, recommend for a spa getaway.
We had a lovely ‘superior spa’ room which was very clean and comfortable with a great bed. The balconies overlook the outside spa area/event garden so don’t have much privacy. The option to pay for early check in / late check out is good value especially for maximising time in the spa.
The spa is excellent. Feels clean and well kept, with a very nice pool, jacuzzi, sauna & steam room facilities. The big pressure jets in jacuzzi weren’t working on our stay but still a great well-sized tub. Had an excellent massage treatment but make sure you book far in advance.
We had a lovely dinner with tasty food. Breakfast is a bit disappointing - good continental (though missing a granola option) but a small menu with a supplement for dishes you would expect included when paying for B&B.
All the staff we encountered were really nice and helpful, also very professional when we saw them having to deal with some difficult guests.
Overall, a disappointing stay. The hotel is visually appealing from the outside and is set in a beautiful location, but unfortunately, the experience goes downhill once you step inside.
The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room initially looked pleasant enough. However, there were several holes in the duvet, which is not something you would expect from a hotel at this price point.
The room was also extremely warm at night. When I went to switch the fan on, the protective casing fell off, which could potentially have caused an injury. Thankfully, it was me who switched it on rather than a child. Leaving the window open wasn’t really an option either, as there was what I assume were generators running nearby throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep.
The spa was definitely the highlight of the stay. The facilities, including the pool, jacuzzi and sauna, were lovely and provided a much more relaxing experience. The treatment was also enjoyable and was one of the few aspects of the stay that I would genuinely recommend.
Breakfast was another disappointment. A full English came at an additional charge, which seemed excessive given the room rate. We also had to wait quite a while for an Eggs Benedict to arrive.
Overall, while the hotel has a lot of potential due to its beautiful setting and the spa facilities, the standard of the room and the overall experience didn’t match the price. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here and would not return.
very nice and calming
Very relaxing spa day…. Just what was needed after a busy few days! Had a facial and back massage treatment which was delightful. Would definitely go again x
Had a gorgeous day at the spa yesterday!
Lovely treatment from Emily, which I would highly recommend. Robes, slippers and towels provided. Was clean, smelt amazing and felt a nice relaxing place to be! Staff were professional and overall atmosphere was lovely.
Get something booked! Treat yourself!
Lovely Spa facilities, very relaxing. Nice touch having a robe and flip flops. Beautiful grounds. Staff were accommodating.
Food was OK. Cocktails we ordered were not very good.

Stanza piccola, calda senza aria condizionata
Loved the accommodation, really peaceful surroundings. Breakfast was great, the staff are all awesome.
We couldn’t get a lounger, which was a real shame as my husband had a super massage and wanted to relax afterwards, unfortunately no loungers available so we went back to our room.
Booked a one night stay for my birthday. The room was spotless and the fan that was in the wardrobe was greatly appreciated. The spa was very well appointed and the changing rooms had great showers with Elemis products, a costume dryer, hair dryers and straighteners on request.
We booked an evening meal in the restaurant which was very nice although as it was 30°+, it would have been nice to have some nice salad options. Unfortunately our drinks order didn't go through so they arrived when we were halfway through our main course. There was a good choice for breakfast and all hot food was freshly cooked.
Would definitely stay again.
Thank you so much to all the staff at Hatherly Manor. You did the most wonderful job for our Style for Soldiers Summer Dinner for the 10th year running and as ever created such a happy , relaxed and supportive environment for our deserving injured service men , women and their partners. Dinner was delicious as was the champagne reception in the lovely garden with views of the Cotswolds all around. Thank you all, we had a truly special evening with exceptionally friendly and helpful service.
