Categories

Cleanliness
3.5
Multiple guests reported dirt and stains (towels with marks, biscuits/wrappers under bed), lack of housekeeping across stays, and cooking smells seeping into rooms — cleanliness is a clear weakness.
Service
8.5
Staff are consistently described as friendly, polite and helpful; several guests highlighted personnel as a strong point despite occasional understaffing.
Location
8.5
Many guests praised the location (loch view, convenient base for sightseeing, beautiful surroundings) — location is a major positive.
Room Quality
5.5
Mixed reports: some rooms are nicely furnished, but others suffer from uncomfortable beds, cramped bathrooms, windows that don't open fully and general wear-and-tear.
Amenities
5
Issues reported with amenities (hot tub not working, limited/filled parking, no regular housekeeping, shower problems) — amenities are inconsistent.
Value for Money
7
Several guests felt the hotel offered good value and were pleasantly surprised by the price-quality ratio, though a few judged it less favorable given shortcomings.
Food and Beverage
5.5
Breakfast and dining received mixed/negative comments (limited breakfast items, small portions, and restaurant odors affecting rooms); some guests did not use the food service.
Overall Experience
6.9
Overall mixed experience: excellent location and friendly staff make it suitable for short stays, but cleanliness, some room issues and inconsistent amenities lower the overall impression.

You get what you pay for!
Pros:

location for me worked and was helpful in terms of my eventual destination.

access to food till quite late was good.

I suppose I got what I paid for!

Cons:

whole quality was poor - including food. Staff indifferent largely. parking very difficult and none nearby!
wouldn't stay there again.

Not sure this is good enough to be on Booking.com

We enjoyed our stay and would stay again because of the beautiful location and warm, welcoming staff
Pros:

The location and surroundings were beautiful, and the staff were very warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay. The food was nice, and we enjoyed the starters we tried at the restaurant.

Cons:

More parking availability, a few additional food options for guests arriving later in the evening, and some updated facilities would make the stay even better.

Served my purpose well.
Pros:

Single room. Small, but enough space to store motorbike gear. Hot water. Towel rail was warm to dry out wet gear. Bed and room were both cosy.

Cons:

Only 1 pillow, it was a little uncomfortable, but nothing worth complaining about

Pros:

Hotel in a great location and clean. Beds comfy.

Cons:

The hotel is so close to a busy road so you hear traffic noise all night and the room was stuffy so needed window open. The toilet flush was poor, you could only get hot water out the bath tap so you had to put the shower on to cool the water, you couldn't get kettle in sink to refill it. There was an ironing board but no iron, no hairdryer, the bed sheet didnt really fit. Carpet frayed and lino in bathroom stained. Hotel wifi was terrible and no phone signal. Staff freindly enough but no food available past 8.30pm. Food okay. Paid £159 for 2 nights but felt like I was staying in a hostel not a hotel!!!

Pros:

Location is great bed was comfortable
