Amaka was amazing at the check out !!!! Very professional and great personality. I will always stay here when I’m in town. The Salmon was amazing and the room was top tier. Clean, comfy, and up to date. Thanks for a wow experience !!!
Super emplacement.
The front desk service was amazing and welcoming
The fact checkout was 11 am. I wanted to stay longer.
We met two wonderful people who worked the front desk, Tamesha and Marcus. They were wonderful and so helpful! Marcus really went to great lengths and out of his way to ensure we had a good and comfortable stay. Tamesha was wonderful to talk to she was so fun and lively and also so amazingly helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here and will be coming next time I’m back in DC.
Everything was clean and in great condition. No issues checking in/out, very straightforward stay, and even discounted parking! Location was great too being so near to the metro.
Even though it was a micro hotel so we were expecting small/less amenities, I do wish there was at least a small fridge/coffee machine (or at least a communal coffee machine like the microwaves/ice machines), but truly not that big a deal, especially for only two nights.
The hotel is located in china town, in walking distance to many sights and restaurants. The room was small but nice and clean, the bed was comfortable.
The airconditioning was very loud, wich disturbed my sleep.
The rooms were extremely small—among the smallest I've stayed in, even by European standards—and this was for a double occupancy room. There was barely enough space to move around, and it wasn't even possible to fully open a small checked bag.
The room lacked basic amenities such as a fridge and tea/coffee-making facilities. I also don't recall there being any clothes hangers, although I could be mistaken. The hair dryer was dirty.
Service in the restaurant was exceptionally slow, so be prepared for a long wait. I only stayed for one night, which made these issues tolerable, but a longer stay could have had a significant impact on the overall experience.
The only real positive was that the staff were friendly.
With so many other hotel options nearby and the city being very walkable, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Unfortunately, I wouldn't choose to stay here again.
Clean, good location , friendly staff.
The ladder on the bunk bed can be painful when you are barefoot (which you would be). It became a technical climbing exercise.
Nice staff, tiny room was nicely appointed, good bed.
Techno music pounding through room from 1am to 4am from nearby nightclub. Helicopters flying low. Nothing would mitigate the noise, not a sound machine or earplugs.
The rooms are tinier than expected, but that was made up for by how friendly and welcoming the entire staff was especially at the front desk. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and didn’t get annoyed when I badgered them with questions as a solo traveler in DC for the first time in years. The room was also very clean and more than enough for me during my stay. I will definitely be back to visit the Motto.
Clean and quiet
Parking spot not good
I'm not normally a complainer and I travel so I stay in a lot of hotels for good comparison. I was hoping this would be a better experience as a first time Motto guest but Diamond Hilton member. Worse experience almost ever. The good? Maybe the location but I'm not sure. Every day the streets were filled with police cars so assuming the area maybe wasn't so safe. Not sure. The room was supposed to be a queen but they gave me choices for self check-in and ended up in double bed even though it didn't specify that. Room was just barely larger than the bed. That would be okay since it was just me but there was literally no place to put your luggage. Not a luggage rack, chair, shelf - nothing. So, I had to put on the floor which meant I couldn't walk around the bed. That's how tight the fit was. There was a sign that recommended I store my suitcase under the bed. Uggh! The internet didn't work hardly at all and i was there for work so that impacted me big time. I was also woken up at 6am by loud construction on my window - corner on the 11th floor. The walls are so paper thin that I could hear the people across the hall, talking normal but seemed very loud with echo until almost 1am. The lighting was horrible. The staff was not friendly like other reviews said - at least not during my stay. I had to hold the door open for some lady struggling with suitcases on her own while they stood there doing nothing just watching. Worst Hilton experience in a long time - maybe ever.
