Nice place for my 9 night stay. Second time at this location. Staff is great. Be aware they have some degree of usable kitchen dishes and pots, but you have to ask. Planet Fitness nearby if you need a gym
Location not great but
I can't even give this 1 star, but that is the minimum rating. This is not a suite or resort in any way! The kitchenette is a mini fridge in one cabinet and a microwave in another. There are 2 pictures that are 18x24 in the room. To say it sucks is an understatement! We just got off a cruise, took the train here, and this is what we are in, and it's embarrassing! It reminds me of a Super 8 or something. There are no plush towels, but rather Motel 6 quality. Do yourself a favor and find ANYTHING else! Staff was less than welcoming - even gave my son the stink eye when he grabbed 2 carts since there are 2 families staying here. Wish we could check out, but just too much. Views of the apt complex is all we see. Welcome to Anchorage - Ugh!
The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. It was in a good location for our needs.
The shower was only a little warmer than lukewarm. The "closet" is only tall enough to hang shirts/tops, and pants. Long skirts and dresses don't fit and get wrinkled.
The location was great; it was away from the noise of downtown. The room was very clean.
I can't think of anything unlikable about this hotel.

We were called by the staff stating they had over booked the hotel and asked if we would be willing to stay at a sister hotel. We said yes. When we arrived at the sister hotel we were told they did not have a reservation for us. Had to call the Aspen again to get it figured out and the problem was that the sister hotel had our name spelled wrong so we did have a reservation. We traveled all the way from Kansas on a Harley Davidson to Anchorage AK and to get a call the day you are arriving that the hotel over booked and we would like you to stay somewhere else is discouraging at least they could have given us a discount. As far as rating the hotel I cannot because we didn't stay there.
Good experience for the money. Hotel is clean, secure and comfortable - nothing fancy. I arrived very late at night (flight landed at 1:00am) and the security guard was very friendly while checking me in. The neighborhood is very quiet at night but it is an urban environment with a homeless population, I paid attention to my surroundings but did not feel unsafe. They serve breakfast but I did not try it. Recommend as a budget option in Anchorage.

I wish I could come up with something. I’ve stayed with this chain in Rochester MN and it was a lovely place. I really can’t express my disappointment with the set up of this location. There are no services, no lobby, no breakfast service, nada…

The remodeled room and fixtures, are significant upgrades. The front desk team was efficient and pleasant to work with when checking in.
Nothing to put in this box
Clean, comfortable, spacious yet cozy feel. Close to Denali entrance. Amenities such as kitchen items, grill, coffee, plenty of towels, and easy check in.
4 pm check in would prefer 3 pm. A darkening window covering would be nice, light slips through the sides of the blinds.
