Dirtiest room I’ve ever been in
Cons:

Honestly where to start, check in was done by what looked like a teenager, no bar or restaurant. Went to the room and instantly hit with a strong smell of smoke (like someone had been chain smoking in it all week. We were only staying for work the next day so we cracked open all the windows and put the fan on. Hoping to air it out. Now we aren’t fussed about where we stay and for £80 weeks wasn’t expecting anything magnificent but the carpet was filthy, had holes in the mismatch furniture and walls, the bath tub was grim (no plug also) went to pick up a towel and it was stained. We spent 15-20 mins in the room and honestly couldn’t bare to stay here. My wife summed it up like it could’ve been a crack den. It was awful. We left the keys and said why we were leaving. We have since tried to receive a refund through here and booking.com but they don’t answer the phone. Would be better off sleeping in your car, if I had the pictures of the room id share but didnt even want to be in there a moment longer

Not the best place to get a good nights sleep at
Pros:

It was a convenient enough location from the city centre and the staff were friendly

Cons:

There was no ramp up to the front door, only stairs and there were no lifts to the rooms. The room was okay, the cleanliness and overall decor of the room wasn’t to a great standard. The floors weren’t very soundproofed so it sounded like the people above were stomping about. You could hear music playing from the time we got back to the room (around 12/1am) until at least 3-4am, which my partner struggled with, the bed was very noisy even to turn over on. Overall it wasn’t the best sleep I’ve had in a hotel

Pros:

Staff on check in didn't appear too friendly, however the evening staff and those proving the food and drinks were very accommodating and friendly, and polite. The Caribbean food provided for Festival was very good, value for money compared to on the site. The outside was a lovely social space which we enjoyed using.

Cons:

The rooms were very basic, no mirror, and in need of TLC. The beds were just about comfortable. Despite the bar looking clean and modern, the rest was "basic". It had a musty smell in the rooms which were very warm, despite using the fan provided.

We requested and had confirmation of early check but on arrival at 1pm our rooms weren't ready.

Pros:

Its was very was a good the staff couldnt do enough for you it was great to sit comfortable outside

Disappointing
Pros:

The bed was very comfy

Cons:

The bathroom was disgusting, there was black mold all around the bottom. The shower water temp was either moderately warm or scalding. There were no curtains and the blinds didn’t close properly. There was only plug accessible as the others were on the floor. The glass shelf in the bathroom was wonky and not attached. The rooms were very close together and I could hear everything the person in the next room was saying, this person kept me wake until the early hours and there was no-one to discuss this with.

Pros:

Literally everything. I’m not one to complain about small things but this was the worst stay in my whole life.

Appalling hotel in a good location for the sporting event I was taking part in
Pros:

Nothing it was a building site unsafe and should not be open it is being refurbished

Cons:

Appalling we got locked out of our room and there was literally no staff in the whole building to speak to on our final day: we waited 45 mins for someone to appear who must have been asleep on the premises. Even with the refurbishment the stairs are steep and the carpet worn and most worrying the rail at the top of the stairs loose so highly dangerous for an older guest trying to use it: the shower fell apart in my hand, there is mould everywhere. Blinds broken. This place should be closed and not available for bookings whist being refurbished: the telephone line is inactive the “reception” team snare members of a family who were playing computer games. However the premises are not safe.

When we arrived, the property was completely different from the photographs and description shown on your website. It was effectively a building site, and the rooms did not resemble those advertised. Photographs can be provided as evidence.
We were so dissatisfied with the condition of the hotel that we left after just one night, as we did not feel able to stay for the remainder of our booking. In addition, despite the property being advertised as a hotel and restaurant, no restaurant facilities were available.
We do not understand how this property can reasonably be advertised as a four-star establishment. We use Booking.com frequently and have never experienced such a serious discrepancy between a listing and the actual accommodation.
This experience was extremely disappointing, and we would like this matter investigated. We also request an appropriate refund for the unused night and the misleading nature of the listing.
