Disappointing
Pros:

The bed was very comfy

Cons:

The bathroom was disgusting, there was black mold all around the bottom. The shower water temp was either moderately warm or scalding. There were no curtains and the blinds didn’t close properly. There was only plug accessible as the others were on the floor. The glass shelf in the bathroom was wonky and not attached. The rooms were very close together and I could hear everything the person in the next room was saying, this person kept me wake until the early hours and there was no-one to discuss this with.

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding our recent stay at the White Rose Hotel and Restaurant.
When we arrived, the property was completely different from the photographs and description shown on your website. It was effectively a building site, and the rooms did not resemble those advertised. Photographs can be provided as evidence.
We were so dissatisfied with the condition of the hotel that we left after just one night, as we did not feel able to stay for the remainder of our booking. In addition, despite the property being advertised as a hotel and restaurant, no restaurant facilities were available.
We do not understand how this property can reasonably be advertised as a four-star establishment. We use Booking.com frequently and have never experienced such a serious discrepancy between a listing and the actual accommodation.
This experience was extremely disappointing, and we would like this matter investigated. We also request an appropriate refund for the unused night and the misleading nature of the listing.

Appalling hotel in a good location for the sporting event I was taking part in
Pros:

Nothing it was a building site unsafe and should not be open it is being refurbished

Cons:

Appalling we got locked out of our room and there was literally no staff in the whole building to speak to on our final day: we waited 45 mins for someone to appear who must have been asleep on the premises. Even with the refurbishment the stairs are steep and the carpet worn and most worrying the rail at the top of the stairs loose so highly dangerous for an older guest trying to use it: the shower fell apart in my hand, there is mould everywhere. Blinds broken. This place should be closed and not available for bookings whist being refurbished: the telephone line is inactive the “reception” team snare members of a family who were playing computer games. However the premises are not safe.

Pros:

Nothing. I’ve written a long review on how disgusted I am with the place.

Cons:

Literally everything. I’m not one to complain about small things but this was the worst stay in my whole life.

Pros:

Location for The Ironman Competition at Roundhay Park

Cons:

Improvements going on at the property - large ones and didn't look good, when we arrived at reception. Room was clean and adequate for wat we required, but needs to be more highlighted of the major works going on

It was cheap
Bed was comfy

Nice staff but a bit of a language barrier

Cons:

The hotel itself was a nice (old) building, but the inside had been either hastily or cheaply renovated(or both) and lots of basic things just skipped over. "out of site, out of mind" sums it up, i.e a hole in the ceiling in the toilet in the waiting area/resteraunt not really sure what it was.
This toilet(for guests) also contained a shower, but the worst part is that it doubled as a store room for all sorts of stuff that would be served to guests. A reminder- this was a toilet..

Pros:

Staff were friendly, and accommodating really good value for money
