Historic hotel with a unique pool
Pros:

The unique, connected, indoor/outdoor pool drew me to this historic hotel. The breakfast was wonderful too.

Cons:

After vacationing three weeks in Norway, I am spoiled by spectacular fjord-facing properties. This hotel does not offer such a view. My room felt small, and its windows reminded me of an 18th century servant room's. There was insufficient sound insulation between the bedroom and bathroom. I felt the room's price was high for what they are offering. This hotel doesn't cater to foreign guests: All signs were in Norwegian only -- no English. I spent too much time using my phone's translation app.

I had an okay stay at Klækken last weekend, but I’m hoping for a better experience next time
Pros:

The breakfast was pretty good, but certainly not exceptional. It seemed to have the standard servings you'd expect at any hotel. The lobby, the bar, and the “lounges” were comfortable and almost fancy.

Cons:

The room had a good view but was furnished in an overly old-fashioned style. The two single beds were too light and narrow for a grown-up man, and didn’t feel solid. The bathroom was okay, but the sink was so small that there wasn't enough room for your personal items.

We loved “Klækken” for the “original” atmosphere, for the Art collection, and for their excellent breakfast selection.
Pros:

A hotel with lot’s of character and a fascinating history.
We have stayed there twice on our way north and south in Norway.
The rooms were small, but very clean and practical. A fine bathroom.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
There can be a slight bit of road noise from the rooms on the front side of the hotel.
The back rooms are quieter and have a fine view.
The hotel is luckily kept in the original style, which we loved.
Their collection of traditional Norwegian landscape art is amazing.
There are wonderful paintings in all the main rooms.
We really enjoyed the art and antiques
The breakfast was excellent. A very large choice of well prepared food and good coffee.
We would definitely use the hotel again.

Cons:

A slight road noise from the room we had at the front of the hotel.
Otherwise… No complaints.
