So much potential, but in need of a refresh.
Pros:

The staff were friendly. All went the extra mile to make a good experience. The building itself is lovely. The history of the castle is interesting and unique.

Cons:

The current state of the property is showing signs of wear and could really benefit from some attention to restore its charm. The driveway, for instance, has several deep ruts that need to be filled in. The gardens are in desperate need of care - they could use some love and revitalization to restore their charm. The garden fountain is not operable which makes it look rather sad. The room decor is tired and dated. The bar area has an unusual beach-themed vibe does not quite align with the stately manor aesthetic of the rest of the property.

Welcoming and marvellous.
Pros:

The young lady checking us in was charming and obviously having to multi task. The breakfast was continental due to kitchen problems but was more than adequate.

Lovely building- a true castle but strange to be situated amongst a housing estate.

Fun, quirky building. Easy to get to.

Cons:

There was a funny smell in the main hallway. I tend to be sensitive to smells! It’s the only place on an 8 day trip that had “continental breakfast.”

Das Abendessen war gut.

Cons:

Frühstück im Gegensatz zur Buchung von vor 5 Jahren leider nur noch 08/15.... Kein Rührei im Angebot, oder sonstige frisch zubereiteten Speisen.
