Lovely castle to stay in
Very long walk with stairs to get to our room. Hard with luggage
The 3 legged cat lucky was a delight
The bed was like sleeping on a rock, very hard and uncomfotable. It was run down and overpriced. The food was mediocre for dinner. The breakfast was disappointing, it was cold sandwich meat, cold boiled eggs, cold cheese, stale bagels and croissants. The staff were unwelcoming. The shower had awful water pressure. Definitely not worth the price for an executive room.

A Grand Old Lady. Wood panelling original fittings great location.
Unfortunately the kitchen was being updated so had evening meal at sister hotel.
Excellent dinners. Breakfast was fine but no cooked on offer. Good comfortable room and dog was made to feel very welcome.
Room had a jacuzzi bath but it didn't work.

Da bucht man Castle und bekommt Dienstbotenzimmer im Souterrain. Die besten Tage des Schlosses sind auch schon ein paar Tage her.

Long walk to room
The Hotel is located in a charming large old Victorian Building. My room lay at the end of a warren of hallways and stairs but was very nice, spacious and quiet. The restaurant was closed this day for some technical problem, but staff was very helpful and friendly in giving information about places to have dinner. From the hotel it is just a five minute walk downhill to the town and seaside. The bar was open and is a great place to spend the evening.
In the morning there was a nice breakfast with a large selection of food to choose.
The room was large and airy with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. We didn't use the common space but it looked nice.
The breakfast was a continental version which was unexpected as that was not clear when booking. Otherwise the hotel was OK.
Frühstück war ok. Gute Kaffeemaschine.
Das Zimmer war alt und in die Jahre gekommen, müssten dringend saniert werden.
Die Rezeptionsdamen waren unfreundlich.
